Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Beefany is one of those cluster b ground zeroes that reminds me of an antlion, sucking in everything around her. Not that I have a huge amount of sympathy for the husband, but big yikes. She's one of the ones with obvious grudges, and you can tell in her posts when somebody has wronged her and she's punishing them

I love ant lions. We used to have DOZENS in my yard when I was a kid.

I'm not going to pretend that I usually can perfectly understand Victoria or munchies in general, but usually they're sort of coherent or at least have a storyline that's plausible if you're very gullible.
Seriously, what the fuck is she trying to say? Victoria learned things, now she has a very secret secret, but she needs 1000 followers on TikTok so that she can get help. What? Google tells me that's the minimum for verification, monetization, and going live. She just wants money? She'd be more successful if she said "I'm disabled and tiktok is my only way to get money, please get me to 1000 followers"
This is why Vic is my thread fave - she takes the shit to a whole new level of crazy. She's not just delusional, she's woefully, terminally confused about what diseases are and what they do to you. The conditions she claims to have aren't even things that actually exist. It's like a 7 year old with some sort of auditory processing disorder was in the room while her grandma watched a few episodes of a network medical drama, and then decided to run with the gobbledygook that she absorbed from it. Her "opposite diseases" assertion about her and her would-be conjoined/spontaneously aborted twin SENT ME. That she claims she was told this by medical professionals, and expects anyone to actually believe it, is nothing short of hysterical.

She wants to get her Masters degree but cannot post a coherent message on facebook

What an absolute fuckin' wreck. Why are they always psych majors? I feel so bad for the medical staff who have to deal with her, not just because she's generally obnoxious but she looks so smug that she's bullshitted her way into a hospital bed like it gives her legitimacy. I did however enjoy the D+ effort to blame a conjoined twin for having extra sets of DNA in her mitochondria or whatever the fuck that was about. I mean she acts like someone with an extra chromosome or two so I'll give her that one...

Who the fuck would want to kidnap this retarded lump?
Other munchies will kidnap her to steal her sikkirts to being the ultimate munch bc she is Very Smart ™️ I agree she is dumb. You can tell it from her terrible writing from her blog. What education has she actually completed? Does she have any kind of post secondary completed?

I've brought you another treat from YouTube, from a creator I usually enjoy watching for non-illness content. This was unexpected to say the least. Lex (who is usually wonderful) has decided to spotlight an Animal Crossing island designed to raise awareness for myalgic encephalomyelitis, aka chronic fatigue syndrome.

Here's the creator's twitter and website, where she tells you that you're only allowed to tour one route at a time because ME/CFS, and says she made Raymond into a carer on the island. There's even a graveyard, because why not?

Can ME/CFS be disabling? Absolutely. Is Animal Crossing a good medium to raise awareness of disabilities? Probably not.
This comes across as tacky at best, insensitive and ableist at worst. What would the response be if someone made an island themed around awareness for cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, or lung cancer? I don't know, this whole thing bothers me for reasons I can't really articulate.
Also, the island is underwhelming. Apparently the creator has been playing ever since the game came out, but this does not look like the result of someone who put in effort and creativity.

I'd be mad if there was no drooling option for the CP mod, coughing blood mod for lung cancer and hawking up mucus mod for CF.

God, I love the ME/CFS cult. I fell down a rabbithole after watching Unrest and these people are fucking hilarious.

Like Whitney Dafoe who is in that documentary. He's cited all the time as proof the disease is real and not just severe depression plus extreme deconditioning from literally not doing anything all day. His mother is a licensed clinical psychologist and his dad is a respected researcher who was deeply involved in the human genome project. His mother spent much of her time taking care of him after he got sick and his dad is now spearheading research into biomarkers for ME/CFS through Stanford U's genetics department. You'd think these would be the worst possible people to try to fake sick to. Except lol, fun things that are rarely mentioned: Whitney claims to be so intolerant to most stimulation that he must be left alone almost the entire day with his parents only briefly entering his living space to do things like change his TPN bags and dump his urinals. He claims he can't tolerate anyone else being in his room at all because of visual dysfunction so no nurses or doctors may see him (but also he needs to have his eyes and ears covered whenever mommy and daddy enter the room to protect him from overstimulation). This means he is alone for approximately 23 hours a day, during which he has shown that he can facetime with people, post long essays on facebook, and fuck around on the internet. He had a partial recovery of function starting in 2020 because he got on Abilify, an atypical antipsychotic often used in treating clinical depression. Also while he uses urinals to wee, he claims he gets a "natural adrenaline rush" whenever he has to take a shit, which allows him to rise from his bed and walk to the bathroom unassisted, which is also when he gives himself a quick washcloth bath. I guess some things like making his parents change his diapers and wash his genitals are just too far. He also had a post a while back about how he requests that his parents bring him several filled glasses of purified water every day even though he can't drink them, because it's comforting to know they're there if he needs them. Lol so, drinking the good filtered water then refilling the glasses in the bathroom sink when no one's watching and claiming you didn't drink them, got it. He also can have friends visit now, but only if he takes benzos first. Then he feels so good he can act like a regular healthy person for the whole time they're over but totally needs to crash and go back to doing nothing when they leave. Lol, cute. He blames ME for making his hair turn grey. Dude's like 40 and his dad apparently went grey young too.

There's also two women who had ME/CFS listed as their cause of death in the UK that they screech over all the time. One is Sophia Mirza who they always post pictures of as a young, slender woman before she mysteriously became ill. The inquest into her death is impossible to find except summaries on ME truther websites, where they try to say she died from an infection in her spine. Actually she was morbidly obese with a bad case of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and obstructive sleep apnea and the cause of her death per her autopsy was anuric renal failure. In other words, she stopped doing peepees because her kidneys weren't working and waste material built up in her body until she died. Common causes of this: high blood pressure and uncontrolled diabetes.

The other is Merryn Crofts, a 21-year-old crouching munchie hidden ana, who also claimed to have EDS/MCAS and who starved herself to death.

I'm not gonna pretend I'm an expert here. Maybe there are people who truly do have some kind of spooky post-inflammatory condition or metabolic thing that makes them unable to function or handle stimulation of any sort. But all the high profile cases always sound like "depressed and deconditioned" or "anorexic hiding my eating disorder" to me.

Slow Claps
What a performance
Love the music choice and making sure mom records the whole thing because you're SO BRAVE
I don't believe a moment of this.
I don’t understand why she doesn’t just have mom play her the magical frequencies that fix her problems! Remember that? When she posted the video where she totally couldn’t move freely until she played tones at the right megahertz or whatever? I love her so much.

Had the sound up and from across the room man friend said, "who's getting fucked?"
"Keep...filming...for...my...doc...tors...to...see." Sounds about convincing as blind Ralphie and his "soap...poisoning."

Edit to not muti-post
She should hook up with Robyn & Luna and get a Healy frequency machine

Seizures can cause shoulder dislocations, but this ain't it. Better sign her up for a latarjet and latisumus dorsi transfer stat for them super cereal dislocations

Indeed! I just find it ironic that she spends a couple minutes of the video *not moving at all* (gracing us with her “cat in heat” moans.) THEN the little arrow comes up about her dislocated shoulder. SMH

It took me three tries to get through watching that video - her performance was next level.
