Chu apparently wrote an article that got published yesterday, so assumed alive for now.

Like MovieBob, he's addicted to anger. Histamine, as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, increases libido, makes you angry, and increases wakefulness. When you are in a high histamine state, you feel like doing things. Not very productive things, possibly, but that depends on what you choose to get mad at. For example, if you've been in a low-zinc depressed state for weeks or months, and there are piles of dirty dishes and overflowing wastebaskets as a result, getting mad at those things is a prelude to a healthy housecleaning session. Or you can be an angry meat robot on Twitter, burning every bridge you ever built. But without that anger, Arthur probably literally wouldn't even get out of bed. Same for MovieBob. That's why they love it, and glorify it. Naturally, it would be better to actually work on getting healthy again so you don't need to be full of rage to do anything. But that would require the ability to admit that they are doing things wrong right now, and both Arthur and Bob are narcissists.

Dude what in the ever loving fuck are you talking about, and why are you constantly bring up zinc?

The problem with people like Chu is that, when they get validation for their delusions of grandeur that are already present as a way of coping with their self-hatred, it sets on a hard train of egotistical thoughts that simply aren't sustainable, all it takes is the right circumstances for a colossal breakdown to happen.

I feel like you just perfectly described the Twitter mind virus in general. Chu is just its most obvious victim.

Low zinc levels are specifically associated with autism.

That’s a bit of a leap. There are a couple of interesting studies (mostly in rodents) linking low zinc and “autism-like behavior” as well as a tiny study on human children (n = 30) that supposedly showed some improved behaviors with zinc supplementation. (But the latter doesn’t establish a cause, since a lot of autistic children have limited diets, and supplementation in general might improve their behavior if they had a deficiency. It doesn’t mean lack of zinc caused their autism)

Also, the amount of zinc deficiency varies greatly between countries:

I know the data available is not great, but if low zinc caused autism you’d expect to see at least some correlation between the proportion of autistic people in a particular country, and that country’s risk of zinc deficiency, Low zinc in childhood also stunts growth (and harms immunity), so you’d also maybe see a correlation between autism and smaller size and/or increased risk of infections. As far as I know there is not the slightest bit of evidence for this.

TLDR, don't read too much into rodent studies.

My guess is that this was the reason. Since we know he’s not suspended, but people have been reporting him, it follows that he wants to lie low until his haters lose interest.

I’m no expert, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve seen people private their accounts for similar reasons. This stops others from finding individual tweets to report, but it’s still possible to report the entire account. When the account is deactivated however, it’s treated in the UI as if it’s gone for good, so no more report button.

The grace period for recovering the account is 30 days, but the language used on the warning screen suggests that Twitter didn’t plan on people using this feature in the way that Arthur is doing - having every intention to restore the account later.

This further implies that Twitter aren’t aware of people using this to protect their account. It’s possible that they won’t even act on reports received before the account deactivated, thinking that who the person who deleted intends to go through with it (and bear in mind that most of this work is done by bots), thus ensuring an additional layer of protection.

There’s also a good chance that most the people who already reported him will assume their reports succeeded, and stop trying.

Called it.

TL;DR he temporarily deleted his account in order to stop people reporting him for encouraging actions related to commit die. You get a 30-day grace period after deleting the account before Twitter makes it permanent.

Accounts cannot be reported during this period because, to all appearances, they are already deleted and Twitter never thought to code for that edge case.

Merely protecting your tweets, as Arthur is doing now, strictly limits others’ abilities to report you, though doesn’t disable it entirely. But perhaps he’s waited long enough for the outrage to die down.

Anyway my alt account still follows him. He hasn’t tweeted anything since April, but I’ll let you know if he does.

So he made it just a little over two weeks. For Arthur that's probably not too bad. I don't think Jake and Luke have ever made it that long.
I think Jake has managed about the same length, but it was therapy-related and he was meant to be entirely off the internet but stayed on Discord because it 'didn't count'.

I can't imagine Pat Tomlinson getting to a fortnight, though.

I don't know that anyone's said that lack of zinc causes autism, or even that autism causes low zinc, much less that zinc supplements would actually improve it. It might be autism is just associated with poor absorption.

I've said repeatedly that autism causes poor zinc absorption, because the major symptoms of autism are the result of a permanent state of gut dysbiosis. In the case of autism, the excess gut microbes are candida yeasts and clostridia bacteria. These are pathogenic organisms. When the gut is infected with pathogenic organisms, it secretes metallothionein proteins that bind to trace minerals like zinc, so as to sequester it and starve the infection of vital nutrients, but it also starves the host of nutrients too. Fighting an infection, which gut dysbiosis is, also requires more zinc than usual, so that makes things even worse. Zinc is needed to convert vitamin B6 to its active form (P5P), meaning that autistic people also have less P5P. And again, the body also is using more of it than usual, because the acetaldehyde produced by the candida is a poison that needs P5P to break it down. P5P is also needed as a cofactor to manufacture serotonin, so autistic people are low in serotonin, so they have strong tendencies to be depressed and/or angry. (And autistic histamine intolerance makes it all worse.)

Arthur's problems have their roots in biology, but I'd bet any amount of money that he's been like this his whole life. He literally has no idea what it feels like to be healthy, because he's never been healthy. He's never been energetic, never not resented every scrap of effort that society forces him to exert. He can't possibly understand normal people, even before autistic empathy deficit is taken into account. And it has warped his personality in predictable ways that I see over and over and over again in autistic people. I'm better than other people (because I'm so good at following rules), I'm smarter than other people (because my detail-oriented nature facilitates my memorization of trivia; literal trivia, in Arthur's case), I'm not the one with the problem, it's other people and their society that is the problem.

His personality is genuinely defective, but he's not going to be able to fix it while his nutrient-starved brain is constantly screaming at him about how everything is horrible and will be forever and everybody around him is incomprehensibly awful for no reason. He needs a nutritionist or naturopath familiar with autistic gut dysbiosis and its consequences. Mainstream medicine cannot help him, because it is completely centered around taking patented synthetic drugs, usually for the long-term because that makes so much money for Big Pharma. Treatment for autism involves natural substances that Big Pharma can't patent, they literally have less than zero interest in genuinely helping him or anyone like him. And recovery starts with him having enough energy to not have to lie in bed for hours at a time, because finding a good practitioner, making appointments, and getting to them on time needs energy that he just doesn't have right now. Recovery starts with him taking zinc, and a B vitamin pill would be a good idea too. But he is definitely showing classic signs of low zinc lethargy, and I know because I have personally been there. And taking zinc fixed it; once I started taking zinc, I stopped spending hours at a time lying in bed thinking about how much I wanted to die.
