The info isn't disqualifying, but I'd bet there's more than a few law clerks with extremely similar careers and activist leanings. Without deep diving every other clerk that it could have been, there's no way to determine if her situation is common or not. Adoption isn't really a thing though. There aren't nearly enough foster parents for the orphans that exist now much less an additional million or so abortions in the US each year. How many have you adopted?

I doubt I would be allowed to adopt. Hell, in the UK a Sikh couple were forbidden to adopt a kid because the child was White. It can take years and all sorts of things disqualify you. Not all of them "serial child abuse convictions" stuff.

In any case, my argument is a logical one: people are deciding on the behalf of unborn people that they should be denied life because their life might be hard. If someone truly, genuinely feels that non-existence is preferable to them, they can make that choice themselves. I'm tired of it being used as a post-fact justification for abortion by a spoiled generation who apply ever higher standards of perfection to childhood in order to do so. People act like even raising adoption as an option is personally condemning a child to a fate worse than death. I mean, literally when you think about what we're discussing here: worse than death. If you wouldn't kill a child instead of putting it in a foster home then logically it's not an argument for abortion either. It's just a dressing up of the initial position that a fetus isn't a child. If you subscribe to that view then you don't need to make this argument (and indeed it makes no sense to do so). If you don't subscribe to that view, then the argument has no value to you, either. It's a nonsensical argument only used therefore for post-fact justification of abortion.

One can be in favour of abortion or against it, this argument isn't a logical one either way.
