This is an excellent point: Lucas doesn’t want a gf in the sense of wanting a person to share his life with and build a relationship, with all the potential difficulty that implies. He wants to, as he said in this suicide bait, “get the girl”, ie have a happy ending where getting a girlfriend magically solves every problem in his life, and he never has to put in effort again because she will take care of him. Sex is probably part of it but really Werner’s cardinal sin isn’t Lust, but Sloth. He got how he is by never doing anything he didn’t want to do. His ideal future is the same thing but with a hot girl shielding him from the consequences and stroking his ego. He pretends to want a relationship, a job, an apartment, because those are normal things society expects you to want, but obviously what he actually wants is to revert to being a baby. A horny baby who can drink and smoke weed.

He's always the ideal man, just as he is.

When he was thinner, weight loss was something that showed his devotion to getting Bae, he "lost weight for you", (the nonspecific "you" Lucas has been "in love with" without specific antecedents, for the past 20 years) but now that he's Porko Maximo again, suddenly fat is preferable for its softness.

I think alot of adults actually DO think like Lucas, in a "take me as I am" sense, but no one is as nakedly self-promoting.
