None of my AFAB pets had a litter before spaying, so that doesn't seem to be the case by definition. If you mean in the event of humans you can't get spayed without having a child, that depends. It depends on the doctor (they like to avoid it), but if you keep shopping around you can get it done. Our workplace's standard issue crazy, but hot girl is having the procedure done later this year despite having never had children.

In humans they still tend to leave in the ovaries lest early onset hormonal issues occur, unless they are cancerous, so theoretically they could still harvest/ surrogate if they got really desperate.

Doctors generally don't want to do something so life altering to someone out of concern they might regret it later. Maybe it's the "Do no harm" aesthetic, or just that they don't want the complaints.

I feel somewhat torn on that, because sometimes a child is the wake up call a fuckup needs to man up, woman up, whatever and get their shit together. It flips a switch in their head or something. It shouldn't be forced, but offered via bribe. If you bribe people to sterilize themselves for cash, UBI or a tax breaks it will clear out a lot of the societal sink people. They want to stay perpetually teenagers, or like, live as pets to society. We sterilize our pets, it's not even strange, but we also provide for them so they can have cushy lives. I'm sure your average pronoun loving, identity switching person would love to just be rewarded for making a decision like that.

It would really be a great solution for a lot of people, except if you subscribe to universal human dignity and don't want to let people make terrible choices. It is kind of harsh to let someone make a terrible choice they might regret, but a moral quandry on how responsible we are to warn our fellow man away from the cliff they want to leap from.

Of course, it doesn't address the stress on the social security ponzi scheme, which is going to collapse if we follow the desires of environmentalists, and is doomed to collapse someday anyhow if we live long enough to actually reach the carrying capacity. Can confirm. I'm pretty good at handling my own affairs, but I have a kid on the way and it's taken me from 'managing my own shit' to 'but I could still do a lot better'. I feel this happens more often than people think.

Doctors don't like to do it and will strongly caution against it, and some will outright refuse. But it's not a legal issue. That would be outright unconstitutional under Roe (which is still the current precedent) and likely unconstitutional even if Roe gets knocked down.

The closest thing to a limit is that Medicaid won't pay for it for under 21 (no X number of child requirement).
