I'm not sure what you mention -search by quantity given on Superthanks- is accurate. From my understanding so far, there's searching by original name, like I try to explain in this post, along with apparently hidden comments. You can also get results for synonyms and mistyped terms if outside quotes. (Example below)

With it, you can find hidden stuff like this one:

(I guess the synonym triggered when you search for "cunt" under DSP's channel, maybe only works on vulgar terms)

Because of the method and parameters used, I think it's actually searching by thread IDs, not replies in this case. That's why I believe some of the results given -besides from what I said above- don't seem to make sense at first, but it's because it's also getting the reply/comment ID as well:

Looks like the search is also affected by the term $, it's giving unexpected results and a bunch of subscribed members with a few outliers (currently not sure why those show up), does similarly with £.

But anyways, to tie it to your post, @Oliveoil , I believe you got that result for the same reason. If you look at the replies, the searchTerms appears in one of the replies, which should be the reason why it gave you that output and not because of the Superthanks:
