Games were like $30 back in the 80s
Yeah. Top tier games were real expensive but your average game was around $30-40. Cheesy games were bargain basement at around $10 and were the worst. I never spent on top tier as I was very casual.
Yeah but accounting for inflation $30 in 1985 equals $80 today. $60 then is $160 today! Technically speaking triple-a titles are
cheaper today than they were then.

Like cartridge games were all over the place because, 1. Those companies had various sizes of cartridges, and those fuckers weren't cheap. 2. Some of those games did come with like strategy guides and big boxes. I am pretty sure I've seen old fliers for like Chrono Trigger at 70 bucks. And I distinctly remember DK64 being like 70 bucks.
However worth noting is that Playstation games I never remember seeing above $40. Especially PS2. Like it was a big deal when PS3 jumped to $60. I'll have go through somethings, but I remember reading about that being pretty salty about that price hike. As that was about the time I had a job and could afford to start buying new games on release.
But also, games got cheaper a lot quicker. Up til that point I mentioned earlier, I bought a lot of $20 games. If I was real lucky, $10. Like I got every Final Fantasy for $20 up until XII, which was the first one I bought new. And aside from 3 because it came out later.
In short, I miss Greatest Hits.
Dr. Disrespect is the same age as well.
The fuck happened in 81-82? Did Reagan spike the water supply? Did MTV actually ruin America? Because thats Keemstar, Phil, Dr. Disrespect, Moviebob, Dobson, CWC and thats just off the top of my head. I feel like I am forgetting someone too. But its fucking weird that so many fucking Lolcows are like the same age.
EDIT: I remembered! Jim Sterling I'm pretty sure is in that same class too
