Apologies for lateness and bringing this back up, but I figured I'd shed a little more light on Kev's sperging about Nomi's bike from Sense8.

I cannot fathom how people are still on the Trans Rights bandwagon when the evidence is RIGHT THERE that we are using taxes to fund genital mutilation fetishes of suicide-baiting man children (ETA: and occasionally literal children, ugh)

In my experience, the justification for why these procedures are still permitted (or should still be) is that men like Kevin are a minority, compared to the larger population of trans-people that exists. And we as a society shouldn't deprive trans-people at-large of procedures supposedly necessary for assuaging their dysphoria. Also, because of Kevin and his ilk supposedly being a minority, that gives other trans-people the ability to disregard them as a non-issue. After all, they're not like Kevin. They're transitioning for the right reasons, and thus shouldn't have those procedures taken from them.

It's like the furry fandom, in a way. Many furries safely ignore the zoophiles and pedophiles within their community by thinking they only compose a fraction of a percentage, and thus pose no risk to them. They also don't like being roped-in with degenerates of those types because they don't consider themselves to be on the same level. Even if they are also degenerate in their own ways. The point being that just because men like Kevin make up a "minority" of the online trans community doesn't mean the rest are any better or any more deserving of transitioning.

Assuming we do get to a point where transsexuals are receiving them, it'll take many, many cases of tissue rejection before people stop and say "maybe giving these to men isn't a good thing." I just hope we never get to where, despite the rejection, an attempt at impregnation is attempted anyway. That would be horrifying, assuming the baby actually tries to grow within that decaying womb. But I think the body can/will ultimately realize it's not possible and just cause the egg to not attach to the uterine wall and spare it the trouble of developing.

Sorry but I'm still hung up on the pregnancy thing. It's been years since I took anatomy but as I recall, pregnancy requires an elaborate, Tube Goldbergian pinballing of hormones between the brain, the uterus, the ovaries, and maybe even some other glands elsewhere in the body. Let's just hypothetically say they were able to implant a uterus into a male and not have it be rejected in a horrific suppurating mess- how does he propose they manage the various negative and positive feedback loops necessary to a successful pregnancy?
I guess what I'm trying to say is I highly encourage Kevin to pursue this avenue of highly unorthodox medical pioneering.

Thankfully the uterus transplant thing is completely fucking impossible and it's frankly sort of nuts that they keep pretending it's in their future of "gender affirming care". It's not. It's actually physically impossible. Full stop.
The only time they successfully did it in rats was when they hooked the blood supply of a female rat to a male rat and forced them to share blood. Obviously that's not an option for humans and even then I'm sure the rats had to have died pretty immediately afterwards.

AFAIK transplanted uteri last for one, maybe two pregnancies due to the high risk of tissue rejection or infection of a successfully suppressed immune system.
