I can understand progress being extremely slow in Donbass, the entire area has been fortified to hell and back for the past 8 years and has most of the more experienced Ukrainian troops, plus multiple military groups that will fight to the death thanks to knowing they'll be executed even if they surrender.

What the dumb part is, is expecting such a region can be taken with maybe a little over a hundred thousand troops.
