Also, point of note, the new Russian BTG-based army isn't the old Soviet one. They have a lot less organic artillery in their units than the old days. 6 tubes per BTG (18 per regiment plus 8 mortars). If they wanna Grozny some place they have to bring in guns and MRLS from division-level.

I didn't. I'm questioning why people don't assume the same for Ukrainians. Ruskies aren't the only ones with large military equipment graveyards, depots, and arms industry. Not to mention whatever the west ships in. The US has something like 350 retired M198s just sitting in depot alone.

Basically because Russia has factories for munitions and Ukraine does not. Why are iphones made in China and not in Portugal? Because China has the fuckin factory dipshit.

I guarantee Russia are spreading the same types of things within Russia, but I don't speak Russian. So the only propoganda I have from Russia is from people like you, and then the loads of outrageous claims posted in the MSM (like they're not gonna start a war, then it's not a war, etc etc.)... Im sure if I went searching for claims about Ukrainian soldiers etc committing 'ridiculous' war crimes from Russian sources, it wouldn't be hard. The hard part would be convincing you that they were ridiculous.

That's about the only real value I could see in it. Granted if it were up to me, I'd level all the existing buildings there and turn it into an airfield and emergency anchorage. Not really with this war in mind, but for future wars.

You'd have to actually get those anti-ship missiles there, and Ukraine doesn't really have a Navy left. They certainly couldn't resupply the island.

They wouldn't need a re-supply.

If they planted anti-ship missiles, they could have a single opportunity of hitting a high-value warship that decided to get close to the Island.

You still need supplies for the garrison though. If anti ship missiles would be planted there you can bet russians would use strategic bombing to slowly recreate Moon surface out there. Being bombed every day means your equipment will eventually explode, including desalination plant (if there is any) and your stored supplies. Hitting a missile depot would grant massive damage as well.

Problems I see with that

1. Not certain but I believe you need people operating launchers in close proximity, cannot just lay a link on sea floor for it to operate remotely - I am unsure of that though.
2. You cant really hide it becuase ASM missiles are pretty big and if ukrainians retook the island it would be under 24/7 surveillance.
3. If it was left there with no protection whatsoever, it is under a huge risk of air assault, or even just a rubber dinghy with four soldiers launched from a submarine not far off-shore.
4. I doubt ukrainians would want a very expensive piece of equipment (launchers are much more expensive than missiles and not as easily replaced) to be pretty much a single use affair.
