I like my oshi because of how much lore they have attained from just being on the interent for so long, even before they became an influential figure. I like how they can do a stream about pretty much anything they want, even subjects I have no personal interest in, and it will still be entertaining because of their own personal charisma and how chat will send them off into tangents. But I think what I like most about my oshi is how they are gaining an audience in the "wrong way". In an age where edgy content is chastised and humor is being expunged, they are proving that there is still a demand for it in the world and that someday we might all be able to hold hands and call each other nigger faggots once again, they way God intended. I'm not even sure I knew what it meant to have an oshi until their Ethan Ralph stream but the explosion of support they received from it really warmed my heart and reaffirmed why they are my favorite:

I'm late lol. I watch several but I'm currently most invested in Lui. Very professional attitude towards Hololive and content creation but still undoubtedly qualified for Yagoo's House of Broken Girls.

Everyone is talking about their oshi, I only watch a few clips and have no preference but if you guys want to shill your oshi now is the time. I'm thinking of listening to one of the Japanese in a few months when I have more time and can commit to learning Japanese, who would be a good choice since I only know a handful of the JP branch, ideally it would be a girl with a nice voice (I have no idea how anyone ever watched Coco even her clips hurt me) and ideally a girl who isn't the Japanese version of Calli, I don't want to learn how to speak only to find out I speak like a wigger or whatever the Japanese variant is. Are dialects/accents a big deal in Japanese?

I shill Lui from HoloX for that. Though most would probably say Okayu if you want to practice listening to Japanese.

Both Lui and Okayu have distinct, lower voices which are easy on the ears. Lui has Japanese class collabs with the HoloENs (Mumei and Fauna so far), which are probably not the most useful but easy enough to follow.

Welp one more of this late asf cause I got home late, but I'm also pretty stuck in the camp of one is hard to pinpoint. I have a few I specifically ramble about around here, there's a separate few who hit my feels differently, and there's a few I adore but don't catch much of lol. I'll try to make it look less hideous and autistic with spoilers to chop the text.

BUT as an attempt:

I really just can't say Gura's not number 1 for me. She's such a little shit, but she's also so bullyable. Genuinely seems to appreciate everything and everyone who supports her (viewers AND other members), loves to ramble about innocuous nonsense (Hey guys, I got 5 pounds of strawberries. I wanna tell ya about it!), and often says goofy funny dumbshit instinctively before her brain catches up with an "oops, shouldn't have said that."
I think she's actually more interactive with her chat than is usually implied considering the absolute size and autism of it. Even if it's a lot of talking "at it" but not "with it."
Also the shark plays well off pretty much anyone as long as there's some sort of previous interaction or solid starting point. Hell she got Towa in on their second Overwatch collab which went really well. Mostly just off a whim of seeing Towa dork out on twitter a little about them playing it originally, then chat hassling her like "JUST ASK!" when she asked her chat if she should try sending a message. She's just overall a goofy goober good time to me. Also karaokes have decent variety and can go all over the place with typically decent results and pleasant tunes.

Pippa and Tenma are probably 2 and 3 truth be told. Pippa's something different in a lot of way. Some arguably not good at all lol, but watching her trying to sort her shit out is really endearing. Even if she doesn't always stick with it, but that's probably something we're all guilty of. (Where dem JP reps rabbit?!)
On the other hand Tenma is like a PC Koyori or something. I kind of wonder what her hours stream is come to think of it between Twitch and Youtube. She got the drive and does her hustle, she runs around putting in effort on both platforms and is legitimately good at grasping comedic timing and humor.

I just kind of follow and bounce around a lot of others beyond that depending on what they're doing.

As far as the JP girls though, Mio Mamma hits my feels something fierce. I can't understand much or catch her much, but when something good happens to her or she has a nice heartfelt moment, right in my kokoro. Hearing some other girl talk about her background support, the whole background of how bad she felt falling behind, the personal struggle with that, the whole miso soup thing. Also her laugh fuckin kills me. If I hear that laugh I will smile. Near 100%. Especially the wheeze.
Also her singing is comfy and the opening is just such sweet calming vibes. Gura's older ukulele also does that to be fair. I think Mio's a pretty darn good singer in generally actually, but it's hard to call her a stand out because of just HOW MAY of these other girls can sing.

It's actually kind of wild to me that Hololive (And NijiEN for that matter, not familiar with ANY other branches) has so few women who are actually some level of BAD at singing. (Though admittedly a fair number are rough if they stray outside their wheelhouse.)

Between people like this, the obviously co-ordinated "infighting" on /pcg/ and /pchex/, and the types who keep bringing up IBS stuff in Pippa's chat despite her hardly mentioning it in months, the Phase-Connect girls seem to draw some bizarre attention; which seems especially odd given none of them really do anything provocative to invite it.

Sister Abigail Dovely is wholesomeness personified and is still capable of being entertaining without debasing herself. I remember on one of her twitch streams I think she was showing off fan art of herself and her feet were in the foreground. Some people jokingly started chatting "FEET". She went quiet for a few seconds and said "I know you're joking but comments like that make me really uncomfortable" and my heart melted. She also hosts a real Bible study on Sundays so she's not just blowing smoke about her beliefs.

Abigail is such a treasure, but I cant bring myself to type in her chat, I feel like my sense of humor is too filthy for her, so I just quietly listen to her.

She really is the standard for what English V-tubers should be. I kick myself for not catching more of her streams.

I've talked about my love of Pippa and Phase Connect already so I'll just say the Phase girls all hit a nice spot of being actually talented and pleasant without acting like cum dumpsters or brap hogs and no @Retink, only I can fix Pippa. It's written in the stars.

What kind of gorilla retard dentists has she gone to before, if she's willing to let it get this bad, and still doesn't want to go get it looked at? She said it was due to the actual dental process hurting too much, but if anything, the dentist drilling into your teeth with the big bit, and feeling your entire fucking skull rattle is a good kind of pain after enduring the unending, dull suffering that is a toothache.

Man, I can't even remember what the retard first dentist I went to wanted to do that put me off, but later I found one that was y'know, an actual professional and honestly helped me out immensely. He actually found out I had a problem with my wisdom teeth and hooked me up with a specialist to remove them. I won't powerlevel too much, but I never felt more relieved and even fixed something very serious that I didn't even know how bad it was affecting me.

It's hard to pick favorites not just because I'm a drifter but because I can't dedicate enough time and effort to watch them flourish and grow. Also it's hard to pick favorites really. I'm pretty much late to the gay party eh?

Nonetheless, I do appreciate people with crass, raunchy, dark and fucked up humor, and funnily enough the regular, dumb fun kind of humor. Not necessarily in that order and not everyone is gonna have all of it anyways. I also appreciate people who play indie games I like (Dead Cells, Bastion, Transistor, Stardew Valley, and the like). And most importantly, I appreciate people who like drawing, singing, and shitposting.

TLDR because it's gay:

In general, I appreciate people who have a passion for doing what they love to do. It's nice to watch someone who can be honest and true to themselves. It's also nice when they've got a good sense of humor. I mean, who doesn't really?
