I remember when I was a kid back during the early 2000s around that time period companies were starting to make little surprisingly high quality diorama figurines as capsule machine prizes or early instances of the blind boxed figures trend there were like 2 of that specific scene in an astro boy one I saw and I was like "hehe haha what the fuck". A hobby shop and a few comic shops I used to go to a lot that closed down within the same time period due to money issues or buyouts or just moves had a small display with opened blind boxes you could pay more for the specific figures so I just got this memory of seeing it on the little glass shelf on the counter every time I went to those places for about a year or 2.

I know the animation industry is a incestuous CalArts cesspool but it still baffles me how unoriginal these people all are.

What i always found most peculiar is how all these american show creators all seem to come from the same school or couple schools,, are dating each other, relating each other or are friends with each other, they are never more than a few links from each other. Nepotism seems pretty rampant, specially when they are making garbage and is hard to understand why they keep getting it greenlighted that it becomes very obvious.

Noelle went to MICA, not CalArts, Seneca or RISD. Yes, the animation industry on the west coast/LA is notoriously incestuous, which used to make a kind of strange hate triangle with NYC and Toronto. CalArts has always been a Disney feeder school.

I think Nimona was originally her senior thesis. My unasked for opinion on it is that the style and content is less Frozen and Link, and more that she had to complete it solo while also maintaining her regular course workload and maybe a part-time job. So simple and fast because there are only so many hours in a day.

You'd think they would. They do that for hysterectomies just to make absolutely sure the woman's fully aware and accepting of what she's doing if it's not cancer-related, but that's mainly because the removal of such organs can be dangerous to the body. Removal of tits not because of cancer is a purely cosmetic choice, and no one questions the mental stability of someone who wants to mutilate/modify their body for "looks".

Unless getting bolt-ons is virtually impossible without some breast tissue to work with, the doctors aren't going to look deeper into why someone wants to get rid of their breasts. And part of that may be due to the troons threatening lawsuits for not catering to them.

She probably removed them because she likes to abuse the sexual power of having breasts. Just like most hardcore troons/ feminists do. They like to abuse the power they have over men. Notice how she said “there ain’t a thing you can do about it” when she chopped her tits off. They’re pretty much the female equivalent of a neckbeard/incel due to their hardcore sexism. She doesn’t want men being aroused by her anymore which is why she removed her breasts. Thankfully a majority of them are unattractive/the type of women most guys don’t even want. What she did was stupid because it was an insult to women who have a medical need to have their breasts removed, like cancer. It definitely is extremely dangerous to do such a thing.

They also get a kick out of sexually frustrated men too by claiming everything is sexual harassment. You’re not entitled to be touchy/feely with a woman just because she looks good, don’t get me wrong. I have sympathy for women who were sexually harassed. But I hate how these troons/hardcore feminists think anyone who’s a heterosexual male is the devil. Just like how extreme pro blacks think all white people are devils. They hate men to the point where even saying hello is sexual harassment. They take their anger out on innocent men who are respectful towards women. Hell, if they have male friends, any type of touch or physical contact is considered sexual harassment in their eyes. Even if you were suffering from luekamia or lost a family member they wouldn’t even give you a hug out of support due to the fact that you’re a male. However, this is not an excuse for a lot of guys to become incels because not all women are like that. I can’t stand incels/neckbeards or hardcore feminist troons who want to have 15 genders. They’re both sides of the same coin.

Lower standards for almost everything, sheltered upbringings becoming more common, the internet, etc. But the main one is the bar for entry has been made almost invisible, and we're at the point where outside of 3d animation, most everything that can be innovated on in 2D has already been done, so there are a lot less people that are trying to be impressive among a sea of competition from the past. I would argue that the main issue is purely digital tools and how much easier it is to learn puppet animation than actually having to draw every frame. That and the ability for anyone to outsource to countries with even cheaper work.

Her career makes no sense to me. It’s successful but unsuccessful. Things go right for her and she gets gigs that go well and get her better gigs. She’s got a secure position in the animation industry. Yet has the stuff she’s made had any cultural impact at all? Has anyone actually heard of Nimona outside of some weird corners of twitter? I certainly wouldn’t have heard of it if I hadn’t spent too much time on tumblr back in the day.

You absolutely cannot underestimate the power of queer nepotism. Once you're in the system you're in. The executives love to hire for diversity points but then they can't fire you or risk a lawsuit and a lot of these projects are run by higher-functioning queers who don't mind that they're losing the company money as long as they can hire baby queers to work on a show. So it just keeps going and the awards people and media people gush over the show so it doesn't matter that the show lost money, the people involved in making the show get more work because they need to hire queers for diversity points...

And on and on it will go until everyone looks around and they're all losing money and someone starts thinking about running a business.

Also there's a lot of genuine mental illness so nobody's questioning why you'd give a show to a woman who chopped her tits off because to them it's somehow empowering. Speaking of, Kate Leth is quietly losing her goddamn mind. Still waiting on those tit pics but she may get committed to a mental institution first.
