Full discloser: I've been a Moona member since.... forever.

I think the problem with HoloID is that they speak way too much of that made up language. I really enjoy the ID girls when they speak fucking English but have no patience when they speak wangy wangy.

And I watch a ton of fucking JP girls who rarely speak English. I don't know what it is about Indonesian that is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
I don't watch ID it's just not my thing. But Indonesian can actually sound really pretty imo.
I don't get where the hate comes from. I will give Kiara credit though, I know nothing of German but did watch and enjoy her German streams because German also sounds really pretty, I know it's kinda niche given it limits her audience and Germany isn't known as the weeb nation like France, but I would 100% watch more in the background if she did more, but I understand why she won't.

I only speak English and know a few weeb phrases in Japanese. Indonesian, at least from what I've heard from HoloID, is a lot more fluid or flowy sounding to me than either English or Japanese. Maybe round? Is this just some kind of weird synesthesia or does that make sense to anyone else? I also like that a lot of words from Reine's Indonesian lesson streams are very similar to English, or at least feel like they make sense.

Just for example, compare Reine's accent to Suisei's and Calli's in beat eater.
Obviously she's singing in Japanese and not Indonesian but maybe the contrast there illustrates what I'm talking about.

I guess everyone has preferences or things that rub them the wrong way. Just surprised me to see the number of responses describing a distaste for the way the language sounds. I'm curious if those of you who find it irritating are native Japanese speakers or something else as I've heard Bahasa Indonesian is often viewed as sort of crude by people in Japan (though i do not know if that is actually true or not).
Fellow EOP. I think it can sound nice, but differences may be due to different dialects. I don't really watch ID, but I don't get the hate for the language. Korean needs more hate, I get people love kpop but I just dislike Korean, not sure why.

Slightly retarded dork is singing vocaloid songs:

Edit: All this this talk of ID reminded me of Ollie dabbing on SEAniggers.
Honestly, I kinda like the way it sounds, at least in this particular clip.
Beat me to it. It really does sound nice, I think its how fluid it is and the rolling r's. The fact her rant was based as fuck was a bonus.
Its the equivalent of when you guys trying to date a girl and then you say "Ah, I can't tell the difference between right and left haha"... It is disgusting.

Don't quite get the Indonesian hate either. The only language I find absolutely repulsive is Mandarin, though whatever it is Koreans speak is unpleasant to my ears too.
It might help that Raid 1 and 2 are two of my favorite action movies and I rewatch them pretty regularly.
I will admit I do prefer the accent it lends to the English the girls speak - I especially like how Kobo, Reine, and Mika from NijiID sound.

You're probably the first person I've seen that thinks German sounds pretty. I'm Belgian and I've been surrounded by 5 languages my entire life so I wonder if that's why I don't really have a problem with Indonesian, it's kinda like German in the sense it's a 'rough' language as opposed to say French or Japanese which I feel are softer to speak and listen to.

I think German just has a reputation as an angry language due to Hitler. There's just something nice about it. Meanwhile I think Japanese is pretty unremarkable. I don't hate it, but I've never heard it and though it sounded pretty, it's better than Korean and Chinese, but that's not exactly high praise.

French by contrast is just too nasal and gross.

Apologies if this has been already documented here, but sometime in the last week or so profiles for A-chan and Harusaki Nodoka were added to the hololive website's talent page. As a result, there's now a new category on the page; "Office Staff". Additionally, on the english version of the page, the category for graduated talents has been changed from "og" to the frustratingly also uncapitalized "alumni".

Since I'm already talking about category names, here's two entirely inconsequential annoyances only on the english version of the page: All of the jp numbered gens are written in the same format except for the first, which should be "Gen-1", but is instead written as "1stgen". Project: HOPE's category is also incorrectly written as "Project-hope".
