I can neither confirm nor deny our plans, but ever since you posted this I have a white van with the words "Not Mossad" on its side parked across from my house, please don't get me into more trouble, the last thing I need is government officials threatening me with a 2nd circumcision.

I guess everyone has preferences or things that rub them the wrong way. Just surprised me to see the number of responses describing a distaste for the way the language sounds. I'm curious if those of you who find it irritating are native Japanese speakers or something else as I've heard Bahasa Indonesian is often viewed as sort of crude by people in Japan (though i do not know if that is actually true or not).

I wonder if there's any study on whether perception of a language by non-speakers correlates to any feature of the language, or whether it's a matter of how the non-speakers were first exposed. Studying that would be complicated and unproductive, but that's never stopped academics.

Indonesian words have more syllables and shorter syllables than English. I think syllable breaks between vowels (la-in, "other", la-ut "ocean") are also more common than in English. There's also the rolling r's. Maybe this contributes to how you think of it.

Reine's guests for the Indonesian class were all JPs until Kronii started the trend of EN guests (three in a row now), so if Indonesian seems crude to most Japanese, the HoloJPs don't mind. I find it fascinating to compare how the JPs and ENs have fared so far. The JPs, as usual, stumble on the consonants which Japanese doesn't have (l, r, ng, some closing consonants). They're mostly fine with the vowels. The ENs stumble on matching sounds to spelling. For example, the ng sound exists in English but more commonly at the end of words or in the middle of compound or suffixed words (strongarm, singing). Without this context they don't pronounce it correctly.

So far we have stream delayed on the bingo card. Was not expecting the deep voice. Languages are Hebrew and English. No spoken weeb Japanese so far.

It was pretty bad, seemed to have little to no idea of what an idol even is (seems like something she should know give the name of her company) probably no streaming experience, lots of dead air, seemed to be a normalfag they just picked from the street given her tastes in anime, music, games and movies, voice and personality not matching her model, steam was late, all in all not exactly a brilliant start for the middle east's only Vtuber company.

She was very nervous, gave the vibes of someone not too experienced with streaming to over 1k people, had super normie tastes, as mentioned by others her voice didn't really match the model. Speaking of which, the model quality was alright. Can't sing so I'm not too sure of her notable talents. Also she swears but beeps it out.
