It is, its just not all the way there yet. Also, religion has nothing to do with it. Its an objective fact that if left to its own devices, batter remains batter. Excluding catostrophic events happening to the mother or rare birth issues, the fetus will 100% of the time, turn into a baby. It never turns into anything else.

I don't believe in giving away free things to people because we have Welfare as a key example of how it doesn't work. If I have evidence of something not working, then why the fuck would I make more of it and offer people?

I'm guessing you're upset mommy made you go to church on sunday and that's why you think this is a religious thing? Most people do not support abortion as a federally protected right. Most people are also against the complete removal of it (I count myself in this number, I think there are valid reasons an abortion may be performed sometimes). There's also a large amount of the population that is incredibly disgusted by the insistance that Abortion be used as contraceptive, when there are other effective methods available.

Accidents do happen, though I'm not sure an accident is a legitimate excuse to allow the fetus to develop for however many weeks before aborting it. It seems the responsible thing to do is either take a "morning-after" pill or carry the child to term.
