Community Quiverfull Movement Lolcows - Starring the Duggars

Admittedly late and gay but given the similarities with Josh, and the shocking nature of what happened to Sitara, I brought it here in case anyone else missed it. (Mobile posting plz no bully)

The Bret Smith family of Texas, fundie family associated with the Morton’s, best known for their eldest son serving a 30 year sentence since - you guessed it - he’s a pedo. Three of their bio daughters have cut off Mom and The Captain (Dad) related to this, but that’s fine because they just adopted more, silly! Here’s the family timeline from FreeJinger and it’s a better synopsis then I would ever create.

They had their 18 year old adopted daughter Sitara doing roofing work and tree felling with flip flops on, in August, alongside The Captain, who is 62 and in no shape to be doing such tasks, nor trained for felling trees and without equipment like an arborist should have.

Tragically, Sitara died when picking up branches and the tree went down right onto her. Her elderly adopted father was wielding the chainsaw. I know this is old news, but it’s so appalling that I wanted to bring it forth to this thread for anyone else who missed it.

(An aside: Their home is fucking horrifying. All the clutter. And this in the actual listing! Imagine what it looked like beforehand. Irrelevant to the subject at hand, but…look at the clutter…

That is objectively fucking horrifying.

Well that's absolutely fucked. My dad was a trained chainsaw operator from his teens. It's not something you should ever do without training and proper footwear. Even then, accidents happen. It's pretty much how you shouldn't let a minor operate a firearm without training. RIP kiddo.

For as much as fundies claim to love children when we're talking about embryos, they sure as fuck always end up being horribly abusive/negligent to any kids they have that gets beyond the fetus stage.

What's the latest Pest can push his sentencing back? I'd think he can't just do it indefinitely.

...and in pearl-clutchingly shocking news, Dugger life ain't all it's cracked up to be according to a new court document leak:

Jill Duggar has described her father, Jim Bob Duggar, as 'controlling,' 'reactionary,' and 'verbally abusive' and said that their relationship is 'pretty toxic.'

Jill, the fourth-oldest of 19 siblings, made the negative assessment in court documents including a deposition that were obtained by The Sun this week.

The 30-year-old revealed that 'issues' with her family sent her to counseling, and she has had limited contact with him for years.

The prosecution and defense teams submitted sentencing memorandums yesterday.
Prosecution is demanding a sentence of 30 years to life in prison even though the maximum allowable in this case is 20 years.
Defense wants 5 years and included character letters.
I'm on mobile and ignorant, so I have no idea how to load the documents here. But I have the link to them.

The first 32 pages are the defense's memo. The second half, pages 33-53 are the character letters from various people including Michelle (note the i dotted with a heart), Anna, Anna's dad, Pastor David Waller (Anna's bro-in-law), Michelle/Jimboob neighbors, and various other quiverfriends. Trigger warning, they will make you gag.

Unlike firearms, it seems like chainsaws can & do maim/kill of their own volition. If I can't chop something with an axe (or burn it in place), I'll pay someone else who's insured to do it.... and try not to watch.

Omfg, the character statements are all referencing the same made up shit. David Waller, on page 42, refers to witnessing a "friend" buying a truck at cost from Pest. He says some time later on, the transmission goes out on the truck and Pest drops a g on a new transmission for the guy, free of cost. Wow, what a great guy! Yet, just one page later (43), we have Micheal Keller stating he witnessed Pest talking to the truck guy and offered to foot only half the bill for the new transmission.
My main takeaway is the letter writers copied off each other's homework.

As gross as the stereotypical fundie diet of boiled canned vegetables, dog food tier meat in a tube (never drained), condensed cream soup, radioactive orange cheez product, and frozen potato might seem to most of us, it does seem surprisingly good for fertility, I have to give them that much. As a group quiverfulls don't seem to be as staggeringly obese as I'd expect. I guess there's no opportunity to pig out on huge portions or seconds when you're fighting 20+ people with many of them being teenagers, and if they even keep snack food in the house the kids would probably get the shit smacked out of them for touching it.
Zsuszanna Anderson, wife of Steven Anderson, the "pastor" of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona and mother of 12, gleefully describes installing locks on the kitchen cabinets and pantry so that her children cannot eat without her authorization.

It wasn't the chainsaw itself that killed her. Dad was using it on a tree that then fell on her while she was picking up branches.

That is barbaric, and I'd bet she doesn't let them eat more than once a day, if that. Gotta stay slender to leave room for Jesus or whatever. 🤢

Zsusza and Steve are a great rabbit hole if you are into fundie-watching. She has a blog, which I won't link here to avoid her or her husband causing issues for Null, but you can find it by googling her name. It's crazy because she can go from writing about cooking everything from scratch using all organic ingredients or making elaborate crafts for her kids to saying that homosexuals and adulterers should get the death penalty in the space of a couple paragraphs. You'll be reading along like, "Oh, wow. This is nice. How wholesome!" and out of nowhere, you'll get hit with something that makes you say, "Wait. What the fuck?!" Actually, she doesn't say "homosexuals", she says "faggots", and she is VERY proud of the fact that her kids have been taught to do the same. She wrote once about her preschool-aged child saying that a gay couple were "faggots" while they were out and about, and she was absolutely overflowing with pride.

Her husband Steven is a piece of work himself. He once got his ass beat by a border patrol agent (they live in Arizona) after goading the guy with his "sovereign citizen" routine. The video of it is floating around on the Internet, and for a guy who would like to execute faggots, he sure does squeal like a little girl.

They met in Munich in the early 1990s. Steven, a recent high school graduate, was "soul winning" (i.e. screaming at passers-by about how they were going to burn for eternity) on a street corner when she walked by. She is Hungarian but grew up in East Germany, and at the time she met Steven, she was a secular liberal and attended university. Somehow she was captivated by Steven, which is particularly mind-blowing if you watch videos of his "preaching". His style is...unique and confrontational.

Anyway, like I said, they are a great rabbit hole. Zsuzsanna OBVIOUSLY wears the proverbial pants in their marriage, despite being skirts only, and their dynamic is really interesting to observe for interested outsiders. Her only redeeming quality that she thinks the Duggars are apostates. She particularly loathes Josh and thinks he should get the death penalty, so at least she has that much in common with the Farms.

I've read a little about this guy, isn't he banned from entering many countries?

LOL yes. He has actually been formally banned from all English-speaking developed countries except the United States, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, as well as the entire Schengen Area. 🤣 He was deported from Botswana when he tried to enter the country via Ethiopia for a "mission trip", and formally banned by both South Africa and Malawi, and has also been denied entry to Jamaica. He's that awful.

Edited to add that the total number of countries from which he's officially banned is >30.

Lmfao they seem very unhinged, how do you get banned by so many? Just bad behavior?

Inciting hatred, basically. Additionally, Pastor Steve preached a "sermon" in 2009 or so instructing his followers to pray for Barack Obama to die, which, as it turns out, is pretty frowned upon, especially when you're a wingnut who seems like the type to help the prayers along. That video was on YouTube at one point but I wouldn't be surprised if it had been removed.
