The Adam Friedland show / cum town

The best part of Cumtown was always the clipping channels. Unfortunately, one of them was stupid enough to show the YT revenue they were making off of other people's content (RE: true crime podcast money). After this a large but stagnant Vietnamese YouTube channel suddenly rebranded to Cumtown clips and DMCA'd a bunch of the channels off the site. One of the "theories" is that Nick Mullen bought the channel and used it to wipe them out.
Was that asian fidance channel? Shoutout to elon bust and clangers.

It was Future Files (who apparently was/is living in Thailand as an English teacher). He has a bunch of different channels, most recent one is FFBO Entertainment. The old channel still exists, but has been wiped clean of content.
Right, that explains why some of the better channels dropped off in place of random ones where the content didnt even match the title. I even watched one where they lifted clangers content and even left in the ending song lol

how much were they making. i'm in a long term argument with another guy about being a professional youtuber. i feel that since the ad-pocalypse its been impossible unless you are only expecting sub-minimum wage, or livestreaming, or doing very clickbaity or kiddy content.
The difference between the clipping channels and the actual podcast is night and day.

Not sure how they managed to do that
its like that with all podcasts, when you clip you get rid of the deadair and boring parts, its why despite Patrice having, like 10k hours on radio theres only like 20 are good enough for the compilations. radio's hit rate is much worse than people remember a 4 hr show with 10 minutes of actual enjoyable bits. Cumtown is similar, maybe one or two good "bits" per episode. they're at 1k hours of podcast and when you add up the popular clips how many hours is it? there's a reason people used to make Best Ofs for radio. same with podcasts.

thats why people loved standup in the 1980s, it was the most jokes per minute at the time. now we're going back to a hybrid of radio, if cumtown was on 12 hours a week people would still listen, but because creators limit it to 2hrs a week thats what paypigs enjoy instead. there is a law of returns as well, look over in LA, asshole comedians with 3/4 podcasts each 3 hrs a week.

Podcast like JRE or Sleepycast are still enjoyable in full. You could even argue they are more enjoyable in full than in clips

Can't believe this fat lazy bastard walked away from the easiest money anyone's ever made in the comedy business. Can't wait until Nick inevitably turns on him a la Jake Flores and we hear all the real hot gossip.
Not sure I will miss him that much.

The only important member is nick tbh

Stav's the weakest link these days for sure but him bailing at this point seals the fate of the show in my estimation. Probably sooner than the end of the year as was planned.

Stav made roughly 25k a month doing only a few hours of 'work' a week. How long until he misses that easy money and comes back?
Never, probably. He’s joined Hasan’s camp and Nick’s joined the MDE camp. If Stav went back to recording a show with Nick, I don’t doubt he’d lose arguably his most visible friend in the industry.

I'll take a bet that it has to do with Stav being a lefty, and Nick being too based to be left alive and straight.
Stav went on Hasan's show.
Nick Rocherfort hung out with Nick Mullen.

Nick and Adam are also leftists, so I don't think this is an ideological schism. Stav was on board when they almost invited Weev on the pod and he himself wanted to have Sam Hyde as a guest (early days), so it would be weird MDE connections are the reason for the break-up.

Stav always sucked as a human being and has gotten so much worse with the years, he was just the walrus that laughed at Nick's jokes.

Maybe we are extrapolating too much and this is just a normal thing cause the show was getting stale (but I think there's some drama behind the curtains).

>8hrs of work a month
>$4,125 an hour

And that's not counting all the ad revenue, really weird to see Stav walking away from the podcast.
