I am so glad we got the Kronii we got and not an exaggerated uwu anime voice like this. It's because I really like the more chill, deeper, natural-sounding voices like Kronii and Kaela's, but also because of the vocal strain issues people have been talking about. I bet that's less of an issue with more natural voices than with exaggerated voices.

I for one was really surprised at how fast your voice can get screwed up once when I was involved in this thing that required a lot of shouting. After only a few days my group all literally couldn't shout anymore; we all sounded like we'd been smoking for decades. Fortunately senior groups gave us some tips - we were carrying around little squeeze-bottles of lemon juice and squirting them directly into our throats for momentary relief before long. So yeah it's pretty impressive and concerning how much strain the big vtubers put on their voices. I really hope Pekora recovers completely, and that they all come up with a better way to handle it than trying to respond after the damage has been done like this.

She's 23 and she supports herself with a job she enjoys and is able to save money too. There's nothing to fix.

In the topic of voice, I'm still curious about how close Gura's voice is to her actual voice. Sure you can tell how much her voice has changed to be more "natural" since her debut, but it's still a little tad high-pitched for me to imagine it coming out of a someone in real life.

The doxx materials we have doesn't help, her voice sounded much deeper in the videos of her supposedly much younger self. I also have some difficulty imagining Gura's voice on the person in the photos we have, especially the one with her wearing glasses.

I remember wanting to post this clip the last time "Gura's real voice" came up but I didn't back then, but I feel like she kinda drops it here at around 0:46
Does she have a filter on top of her audio?

I was in a Discord call with some friends while we made a dumb tier list the other day. I spoke quite a lot and I believe the call lasted a little over 4 hours. When I woke up, my voice was a little hoarse and dry but it thankfully recovered as the day wore on.

V-Tubers do this at least 4 days a week, and some of those days may be double streams or extra long sessions. They then record covers, do anime episodes, perform live which takes hours of rehearsal etc. Without proper care, they are essentially torpedoing their own health for the sake of the job, and I'm not convinced that the people who don't already have an acting/singing background prior to joining know how to take care of their voice.

Enna has a little ritual thing she does at the end of each day to keep her voice in check, and she's taking a month off to make sure it's protected. She's also been singing her whole life. On the flip side, Warabeda Meiji has recently made the decision that she can no longer continue her activities with her throat issues as they are.

Pekora, Marine, Kanata, Aki etc are on their own to identify these issues and sort them out. There's no one wrapping them in cotton wool and ensuring their health is maintained but themselves (at least based on how they all described the process of learning of their issues and going to the Doctor's). They're just people too, and this is very serious in regards to their activity.

I know the job comes with health issues, but wouldn't that be covered by their employer under some health and safety stuff? I imagine that cover being as big as it is, is able to get some staff to advise/educate and monitor them healthwise. Suisei mentioned having issues with her throat and honestly I think Cover would be better off having her stream less so she's better at singing, Pekora could probably do less singing since her thing seems to be more stream oriented. Am I being :optimistic: in assuming Japan has all kinds of bureaucratic BS so it must include employers protecting workers from risks associated with the job?

If people are having vocal issues now, does that mean Towa and Kson both use their natural voice? Their voices hurt me with how strained they sound, it doesn't seem natural,

If her videos got a sudden uptick in views and she got a large number of subs from being posted here it shows. She probably went in and looked at where the views came on.

Your channel has overall metrics showing you where each view came from. It often shows up as "External Source" but if you go in, it shows from what website the views came from. First screenshot is on a specific video. This video got around 8k views in a day because it seems it was recommended by Youtube which is not something that happens often as videos with swearing, or no-no words don't usually get picked up by the system and I clip Pippa. The overall external views are very low. Next screenshot is the overall Channel's last 28 days.

If I went turbo autism I could probably figure out a what day, what time and where to post videos to get more views.

If she has about 1000 views in a video that's been posted for a few months and suddenly she gets 300-400 views in one day she probably went in and looked at where those views came from.

This shit popped up on my feed. Vtuber IRL thottery shennanigans incomming to lure coomers into subbing. There currently are about 10 of these around but expect that in the next 2 days 1000 more will pop up. Expecting a few cameltoes to pop up also because why the fuck not.

Man , does hololive just fucking hate her or something? Poor girl not only got stuck in between two different gens , but is also such a departure from how the other girls look she sticks out like a sore thumb, someone help the tax woman please.
