And the wider public witnessed just how cavalier these shooters are about their cruelty. Maybe people would become more mobilized to do something about it. Unfortunately I don't think we live in a world with all that much empathy, and there's people in that audience who are going to take it as some light entertainment.

I don't know, makes me more unwilling to reevaluate my stances on capital punishment by the day. This fag should be on a gurney in an execution theatre.

You are right on the money really. I grew up in the Y2K to early 2010s era, and when I think back to my relationship to the Internet, it was always just a place to look at funny shit going on and listen to music/play games. Social media has fundamentally changed our relationship with technology and allows people to do, think and act on impulses that are really psychotic just for upvotes. Kids from Gen Z onward have grown up with this shit their entire life and cannot tell the difference between a meme and reality, because the Internet is their reality. Social media execs are to greedy to do something about it and most importantly, their parents are too lazy to actually do their fucking job and teach these kids how to be a proper functioning human being, It's why we have so many shitlib commutrannies and alt-right conservagrifters that pander directly to kids: these kids are looking for guidance in their life that their parents aren't giving, which is how these people start getting groomed. This is also why people identify so strongly with political causes, even moreso than in the past:again social media actively incentivizes this behavior and forces people into camps of opposing ideologies fighting against the absolute evil rather than treating them as people (albeit people with shitty opinions). I really think the democratization of the Internet has ruined society at large and the damage is final. Fundamentally, people on the Internet 20 years ago knew that nothing there was real, there were no real names tied to any accounts and this is just for entertainment (unless it actively had to do with work in which case it was part of your job and again nothing personal). If I called you a "dumb nigger", it was whatever and you either called me one back or you left well enough alone. That mentality gone now and we're reaping the consequences. The world is only going to get more insane until many people start taking little actions to fix this. The problem is that everyone doesn't want to take responsibility and will pretend everything is fine until someone else fixes this mess.

Gone are the halcyon days of calling everything gay and not attaching every thought or feeling we had to some meticulously cultivated, highly visible persona. I feel like more radicals exist because the classical ways of finding purpose (dedicated craftsmanship, spirituality, becoming a parent, duty to country, etc) have all fallen to the wayside or become taboo. Most of the last two generations of parents were self-centered and shitty at best, neglectful at worst. Combined with the internet narcissism machine doing it's thing, perceived identity usurped character as the prevailing interpersonal animus. So you have a bunch of frustrated, hollow, miserable young consoomers ready to cling to anything that makes them feel like their life has any meaning at all because lining their apartment with plastic crap or glomping onto various media franchises doesn't seem to be doing it anymore.

It's really fucking sad. The advent of social media really was the planet crossing the Rubicon into a global decline of perpetual dogshit.

Folks think shootings like this are staged ops for a number of very good and obvious reasons:

- The optics are horrifying and conveniently focus on targets of federal wrath (huwhite supremacists, unmoderated message boards, weapons that equalize the power between the people and the government)
- The feds have repeatedly over DECADES committed crimes in service to elite power agendas, specifically in ways that seek to manipulate public opinion
- Manifestos like this one utilize worn tropes that are too "perfect" for exploitation of power grabs
- Manifestos like this one are written in a non-believable way; literal copy/paste from the Christchurch manifesto, using DNC talking point phrases like "high-capacity magazines" and "assault style weapon" that nobody on 4chan would ever use
- The media and DNC apparatus appear to move in lockstep around certain shootings while ignoring others when the optics are not suitable, like the Vegas massacre that appears to have been a military operation
- Processes appear pre-arranged or sped-up around incidents like these. The shooter was in court two hours later? Really? On a Saturday?
- Spree shooters are often "known to the FBI" or have suspicious connections to the federal government

When you see certain patterns repeat over and over, it's hard to ignore.
