The shooting isn't going to do anything for Democrats in the election. Voters blame Democrats for the rising violence in America, and the same voters trust Republicans to do something about it over Democrats by a 20 point margin in a lot of polls. It also doesn't help this dipshit was known by the cops, had threatened to shoot up his school and nothing was done about it. Biden will go to Buffalo today, say stupid and derisive things, and instead of trying to bring people together he will make them angrier than before. Gas is still going to be heading towards 5 dollars a gallon, inflation will probably be higher in May than in April and March, baby formula is nowhere to be found and no one can afford to eat and the shelves are bare. This election will come down to the economy.

Certain pollsters are already trying to downplay this and say the Dems got lucky, but now they go from facing 7 red seats in NY in November to facing potentially 11 seats going red, and 4 of those potential flips are currently Dem-held.

Here’s the thing: all the main cities are reliably blue, including the Big Apple, so Democrat New York is like a birthright to the donkeys.

As for the midterms in general, the only hope is that states actually hunker down and make sure that 2020 rules aren’t a thing, even though Democrats will really try to make sure that’s a thing again. Here’s hoping that some idiot doesn’t feel that they have to put matters into their own hands, especially since Biden is in office.

It's not about resources but location, Somalia is squatting on some very strategically valuable land. There's a reason there is so much piracy in the area and that because of how many major trade routes take you right by Somalia.

The countries on the other side of Gulf of Aden are another major reason for the US wanting influence in Somalia.

Man I really over estimated how many women actually breast feed. I know there are legitimate reasons to use formula instead if the mother has certain issues, but the few I've ever had a conversation about this only switched to formula because breast feeding was uncomfortable. Is there any actual reason to use formula outside of what I mentioned?

Breastfeeding, even under the best of circumstances, can be difficult. It sounds very appealing, but after a few nights of trying to breastfeed a screaming infant in the middle of the night while trying to unseal clogged milk ducts, and it's not quite as beautiful as the gauzy picture in the brochure the hospital gives you.

Throw in the fact that most women also have to go to work and when they do that, they have to use a breast pump, which from what I understand is not a pleasant experience. I know a lot of women who've had children, and only one of them was able to exclusively breastfeed. Most people have to at least supplement with formula. Breastfeeding is fine if mother and baby both enjoy it, but it can be a real nightmare if things aren't going well.
