Russia on the other hand didn't make any public statements yet.

I have a feeling that some people will feel a bit unhappy when they found out this was another bogus promise made by Ukraine.

Anything less than some kind of general or at least exchange 5 to 1 would probably lead to an open revolt in DPR. They probably would shoot them themselves if order for exchange would be given. It's even dropping the fact that one of the reasons for this invasion is to liquidate AZOV one way or the other.
Than again, it's not like cuckining can't happen and the whole thing might be prearranged, with Russian glowniggers watching day and night so no harm would be done to our Aryan Warriors, Saviors of EVROPA. Would be pretty big L for Russians, in my book, if they got exchanged.

Does it really matter if they are part of AZOV or not? All that matters is that they were fighting in Mariupol and were hiding in Azovstal. For DPR they are practically war criminals, because they either were hiding behind civilians or were indifferent to it and did nothing to evacuate civilians, therefore being indirect participants in war crimes.
I don't know why Kiev tries to present it as some kind of a win, considering that such a propaganda move can be simply dislodged by showing the captured on every telegram channel that exist and on every Russian TV state channel, especially if somebody like Prokopenko would be captured.
Considering that the only one thing Ukraine have realistically going for them is Elan, showing somebody like Prokopenko in captivity, well fed, well groomed and singing praises to the supposed occupiers (and if he won't, he will sit on a VERY LARGE bottle until he will), will make prospect of surrendering to Russian Forces so much more appealing for common Ukrainian soldier.
I hope Ukrainian propaganda division have a way to spin this, for their own sake.

Nah, actual AZOV members are fucked, what I can see is prisoner exchanges from bog standard soldiers that happened to be Azovstal. Don't even think Zelensky or his masters would want any AZOV prisoner trade that favors the Russians.

It does not matter how much time it would have taken to clear Azovstal, what matters is that AZOV is either dead or facing trails. What Putler is for the West, AZOV is for Russia. No cost is too much to eradicate as many of them as humanly possible and every killed member is a propaganda victory on it's own. Why should they let them go free, especially after they given them AT LEAST two chances to go with their weapons outside the city until siege started in full. AZOV squandered their chance to go and there is no reason to exchange them now, AFTER said dragging on.

It WOULD be a humiliation if ukrainians managed to relieve the besieged troops and regain control over Mariopol. In that it would be a humiliation.
