I dont know Jim personally but I met them in real life in 2014/2015 at screw attack gaming convention ((hard to believe 8 years ago most of the gamer tier lowcows used to be happier people.)) But one could sense they were unhappy. I used to think it was introversion but now i think seeing them now its different.
I wonder how Yahtzee feels about all this - his one-time colleague (and probable friend) taking such a turn, when only a short time ago (relatively speaking) they were writing competing rhymes about various concepts, and competing in video games to see who could reach an objective first.

Good times...

Jim was never cool. Dude was always a fat, try hard, doing the most cringey shit for attention, or trying to rip off the likes of Total Biscuit (pre cancer) and failing miserably.

Jim was always a clout chaser.. the troon shit, is just another sad chapter in that story.
This. I never saw the appeal of this mother fucker. Demo Reel looked more appealing then the stupid shit of him standing at that podium with that hat.

Does all his newer content still revolve around trannydom like it did right after he decided to put on the Party City wig for the first time? I remember when he literally blamed his decline on "transphobia" and not the fact that people subscribed to a vidya channel aren't there to listen to that shit.

I can't be bothered to watch them all the way through, but from what I've seen it's trannydom and the same tired "companies are bad" schtick he's been milking for a decade, but now with a much harder anti-capitalism bent.

I only just recently found out Jim Sterling looks like some weird tranny that looks no different from Tommy Jayne Wasserberg and I find he's pushing this climate change hysteria in things that have nothing to do with it (like NFT's). No wonder he's been losing over 10% of his subscribers since 2021. People have become more fed up with his shit as time goes by.

I agree, but he has complained about being unable to afford US healthcare. So he's either lying to pander to breadtube, or he's squandered all of his money on microtransactions (which he said he spent money on Rick and Morty without thinking) and boglins.

It's possible he is a pay pig like DSP.

At his level of income, assuming 12k is probably a few year low, he should have no issues affording healthcare in the US. Unless of course he is talking about procedures that insurance just won't cover. Fite me, but insurance in the US isn't too bad unless you are looking at supporting multiple people on a plan. Granted it isn't free, but the US also has something like 16-18 of the top 20 hospitals in the world. For how much he makes, any complaining would be either e-begging in disguise or probably related to him trooning out and insurance not covering it.

It's probably not intentional but Jim's expression in this picture really reminds me of Jared Leto's Joker impression. But way more gay and fat.

I'm guessing Gamergate was the splitting point where Jim decided to go in on the Anti-SJW brigade whereas Yahtzee had the good sense to not get overly invested in cultural battles. Ben probably saw Jim owning the trolls a little too hard and distanced himself accordingly.

are his tits HRT tits, or he just squuzed his manboobs in push up or something?
Well, I mean, he IS like 400 pounds. But maybe the HRT made them a little more plump, which is the last fucking thing Jim needs for any part of his body.

Actually Jim, surprisingly, was semi-neutral at first. On the side of the SJW types, but one of the more reasonable ones for a little bit. Not many people gave him any credit for that at the time.
Jim being someone who made racy jokes and went on and on about shitty practices in the games industry I'm sure he knew the people his industry were supporting would come for him eventually, and rebelling against perceived corruption probably appealed to him.

But, at the same time all his friends were saying those people were nazis and bigots and misogynists and homophobes and republicans and awful terrible irredeemable harassers so Jim, eventually, went harder and harder against it the more pressure was either put on him from his friends or the more pressure was put on his dogshit opinions on the matter by pro-gg people.

I assume the non-binary thing happened because it was a way to become a bit bulletproof to accusations of past misdeeds and because he's profoundly mentally ill and wants acceptance.

Because he was a mainstream games journo who wasn't afraid to be pro-consumer and call out big AAA devs/publishers at a time when game journos would trade review scores for ad deals.

It was also a time where the "angry reviewer" fad was at it's height, so his obnoxious holier-than-thou tinpot dictator shtick was assumed to be an act, not his real personality.
There really needs to be a fancy psychology term for when someone takes their persona, and eventually allows it to take over who they are offstage. Like those wrestlers who think they can actually fight after becoming WWE Stars before having ever picked up a tool or opened a spreadsheet who have passed their prime

In Europe the Master System was very succesful compared the official NES (the Dendy and Pegasus being probably more common than the official NES), with it becoming a budget option in the 90s. Its main appeal compared to home computers were arcade ports that also had instant loading. There was also lots of PAL exclusive Master System titles.
The C64 also had instant loading carts, didn't it? I could swear it did. I remember I had some carts for it, but tapes/diskettes were way more common. That was my "budget" gaming system in the early 90s. Some stores actually sold RAZOR etc. cracked games in stores, if the sellers trusted you enough to show you their secret tray they had under the table. They were dirt cheap, but came with no box or manual.

That said: I miss TotalBiscuit. He was a tool, but his reviews were great and as far as I recall he didn't bring politics into them. Sad to think that the "cool" Jim Sterling is just as dead, as he did a total 180° turn over the past 5 years or so, where he went from edgy reviewer with some hot takes to this mess of a being he is now.

I think it's the other way around. James Rofle is a mellow guy that plays an angry, histrionic nerd that took old Nintendo games too seriously. Jim (and others like Linkara and Spoony) are angry, histrionic nerds that take old media way too serious.
