Milk is synthesized in the glandular cells of the alveoli. There are oxytocin receptors localized on glandular cells and the myoepithelial cells along the duct. Oxytocin stimulates the shortening of the cells along the duct, which widens the duct and promotes milk flow to the nipple. Suckling triggers mechanoreceptors which further promote the pulsatile release of oxytocin, which has a sort of pumping effect on the alveoli, which, again, maximizes milk flow. Prolactin "makes" the milk. So, yeah, males could technically do it too.
