That's because CA politics are dominated by the Bay Area, which means upper-class whites and their dark-skinned pets. Now, that San Fran machine is run by one Nancy Pelosi, and I don't think there's a replacement waiting in the wings. Newsom is going to get termed out, and without his aunt-by-marriage's patronage he won't be going somewhere where he can keep that power, and Maxine Waters is going to start insisting its her turn to take the lead. Meanwhile the Hispanic machine that's in LA and extends through OC down to San Diego and has been actively sidelined so the Bay Area can maintain power is going to start agitating and making their moves once they see an opening.
Kamala Harris is literally one heartbeat away from the presidency but tell me more about how the SF political machine is just Pelosi

Never seen proof of this.
I'm afraid even mouthbreathers like them still breathe.
Our nation's history goes back much further than 1000 years. Our history didn't begin in 1776. We came from the 13 colonies. Who were they the colonies of? What language do we speak? What legal system predominates? What religion is the most popular?
Eh, yes and no. There was a bit of a hard reset following our independence with some de-Angloficiation going on. We deliberately switched to coffee instead of tea because tea was associated with being British, and we also dropped the "u" and swapped "re" to "er" for certain words. The dollar is also derived from Spanish currency. Add in the various non-English groups that had immigrated to the Colonies, such as the Dutch and Germans, plus the indigenous tribes we began to assimilate and/or push out, and the US's history as a nation and people are both very muddled.

Yes, because Kamala Harris totally put herself in that position instead of being chosen for it by other people. Had Biden not declared his Veep would be a black woman she'd be under the Veep's desk whenever they officiated in the Senate as its president pro tempore, no matter what they had between their legs.

do you understand what "political machine" means?
Yes, and you need to go back and re-read what Gehenna has posted about her selection as VP. She was not chosen because she's from the Bay Area or wielded massive influence. She was chosen because she was literally the only option available after Biden opened his fat mouth. The Democrats needed an ambitious yet (theoretically) easily controlled black woman with no gaffes the media couldn't help bury, and dumb enough to think she'd be allowed to have a major role in decision-making. That is a very short list, mostly consisting of her and potentially Stacy Abrams. But Stacy Abrams would be forced to concede her loss in Georgia which she still hasn't done, and is also arrogant enough to demand actual power, making her unable to be easily controlled. She's also about as unphotogenic as any other fat black woman, and her smiling would be enough to put off half the country from voting for her thanks to losing their lunches at the sight of her teeth.

I had to sit through a Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity meeting last week. It was about as fun as you'd expect. The DIE presenter referred to Joe Biden as "our national leader." Both the amateur philologist and the poli sci major within me wanted to scream.

Constitutionally, there's no such thing as a "national leader." There's a President, who has defined powers over the Executive Branch of the Federal Government, but he has no power to "lead" the nation. He can exhort, harangue, and babble all he wants, but he leads private citizens not at all.

Humans don't have innate immunity to zoonotic viruses. Remember all the Martians dying at the end of War of the Worlds? They died of humanflu.

White liberals have negative ingroup preference. I think they're the only large group known to exhibit this trait. Abortion is their chance to kill a member of their group and get away with it.
National leader?

National FUCKING leader LOL.

That kind of term is not generally used for nations with democracies.

Usually its elected leaders.

To see these cunts go after Trump, for admiring strongman regimes, and then do this bullshit lol.

Soon twenty won't be enough to fill up a lawnmower, especially if you use premium. Are those old manual push mowers still a thing, anyone makes them?
Yes, they still get made and you can buy them for about 80USD (my parents had one because it was more worth it to tell us to mow the yard with the damn thing than to ground us).

Good summarization and yes, kamala was literally the only candidate they had. You are missing one element. It wasn't "no gaffes" it was "no connection to anything legally dubious". The candidate had to entirely dodge another "emails" scandal. But yes, this did rule out Abrams.

PA update:

Around 8.7k Republican ballots left to count, alledgedly by the SoS of PA.

McCormick's math isn't there. He isn't winning new batches by enough to overtake Oz's 1000+ vote lead. So he decided to lawyer up to win the election. Oz wins outside of (((mysterious dictator like voting margins))). Oz may win by less than 500 votes.

This is like Florida 2000 part 2. And it is entertaining to watch the reactions of neocons melt down about their own not getting in through their spoiler candidate.

Seems like Manchin is getting increasingly frustrated by the Biden admins constant "well, we would be fixing it, if you assholes would just stop noticing how we aren't fixing it!"
Manchin is at a crossroads he seems unsure of how to cross. He doesn't seem to want to switch over to the Republicans but it is also clear he no longer wants to be a Democrat either. He is going through the song and dance on the smaller things but its like a robot. Just mechanical "yes" vote without any soul.

It might not be all bad. To the non-insane democratic voter, he probably looks pretty good for calling anything out right now.
He looks like a shining beacon of intellectual integrity and capacity up there next to... well name a major DNC player at the moment. Pelosi, Schumer, etc.

Manchin has literally done nothing extremely notable aside from doing literally the job he was elected for, representing the people that vote for him.

That alone makes him stand out aside from the rest of the Dems that act like robots that just "support current thing, unless you're a Nazi"

And you know what? Good on him for it, honestly. I really maintain the idea that the DNC is irrevocably fucked right now as it's written itself into a corner with their political rhetoric. Staying as distanced as possible from that party right now is definitely a smart move.

It really says something that he is the only Democrat in the senate to willingly and openly note his displeasure with the hard left shift.

I know for a fact he is not the only one to willingly want to distance themselves. Nor is he the only one to do so openly. But he is the only one to do both.

I have a question, so I've never really understood the idea of having the US go through a managed decline, at least from the pov of the political class and the elite. I understand it as a concept but in practice it's insane, even if you get rich off it where are you even going to go if the US goes to hell. The US collapsing would cause such huge problems that you'd be pretty much screwed no matter where you went, so I'm left wondering what the plan is, or hell if they even have a plan
