"I am deeply concerned about the threat of hunger in the world. But in order to destroy Russia, we must be patient"

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen- Your well being is a sacrifice that I'm willing to make.

It's not even a joke anymore. :story:

Who is this "we" of which she speaks? I'm pretty sure it's not what used to be known as "the American people."

It's her tribe.

Hot take: We shouldn't negotiate with terrorists and instead should fire enough missiles into the black sea to destroy a third world terrorist shithole's naval blockade on grain exports.

Dear diary,

Today I learned that refusing to give me what I want because I demand it is terrorism.
It's always been like this

I forgot which cunt it was, iirc she was part of the Bill Clinton administration.

Believed it was worth it for Iraqi kids to starve to death, in order to own Saddam Hussein lol.

Seems China is opening up the russian oil tap. Overall it seems like sanctions have done nothing more than cause countries to jump ship from US vassal controlled oil exports to russian oil. Archive is taking forever.

Putin ally China is boosting Russian oil purchases by nearly 50% after initially cutting back

Last week, the International Energy Agency said Russian oil export revenue is up 50% since the start of 2022 with the Kremlin generating close to $20 billion per month in sales.

Export volume has rebounded to levels seen before Russia invaded Ukraine. In April, Russian oil exports climbed by 620,000 barrels per day from the prior month to 8.1 million, back to their January and February average, the IEA said.

Mariupol. Children will be taught according to the "Alphabet of Donbass", where there are poems with lines such as "Donbass is the Russian land" and "Our homeland is Russia".

Russia's naval blockade of Ukranian grain exports in order to force capitulation is terrorism.

Blaming the US for Russia's naval blockade is like going home after work, beating the shit out of your wife, and blaming it on your coworker who said mean things to you.

edit: a gazillion edits in one minute cause phone posting and my fingers have downs syndrome

Pro-Ukraine twitter is saying the Russians used bags of ammonium nitrate as cover for their entrnchements.

They kind of look like fertilizer bags, but the most interesting thing is the white stuff on the ground. Those do look like fertilizer prills. So it's likely that fertilizer bags were dumped of their contents and filled with actual dirt.
Still wouldn't feel comfortable standing on that, though.
I dont think AN is dangerous until mixed with the correct ratio of diesel. Even then, it requires a detonator about as energetic as TNT to initiate the explosion. As long as they don't start dousing it with gas and shooting at it with mortars, it should be fine.

This is a Naval blockade on grain Ukraine is growing, hence the explicit use of the phrase "Ukranian grain exports"
Fair enough.

Having said that, last time a civilian foreign plane flew over the area where Ukraine was dishing it out with separatists, shit happened. Having freighter ships go through the area where Ukraine and Russia are dishing it out is just asking for trouble - it would take one glowie op or a stray missile for the entire world lose its kittens again over Russian orks sending their precious food straight into Davy Jones's locker, so it pays to play safe and keep the ports closed.

This shitshow is gruesome enough without stoking the tentions any further.

So we're still living in the paradox world where the Americans are criminals for sanctioning Russian goods, while simultaneously sanctions being useless. Truth is sanctions can be circumvented to a certain degree, but the situation is still very difficult. When China and India buy Russian raw materials it's not at the prices paid by the west.
Russia is still speeding ahead towards selling half the nation just to spite their former vassals.
In regards to the west's sanctions they make perfect sense, even if they were completely ineffectual they ensure that corporations in the west don't form economic attachment to Russian businesses, let asia squabble between themselves

There is only one nation in the black sea threatening merchant vessels, and that is Russia. All Russia has to do is not open fire on merchant vessels entering or leaving Ukranian ports.
