You can tell none of them have read the book and are only going off the television series, because the book contains a major character who is a stock "sex-positive" lesbian feminist who is shown as being played as a patsy by the Gilead folks and ends up a sex slave for the Gilead leadership. Like Ofglenn, they completely ruin the character by removing the fact that she gets mindbroken and instead have her stage a grand escape that ends with her back in Canada, so they can pair her with Offred/June's husband's actor to justify keeping him on the payroll.

It's Serena Joy who gets played by the leadership of Gilead, who use her to get put into power then gets forced to eat shit when she's forced to live by her proclamation of being a housewife under the draconian rules the new government puts into place.

Rewatch the movie. In the movie, Snyder has Veidt blow up OTHER cities besides New York. With Veidt also saying that he's going to have his left wing media cronies sell the carnage as Manhattan going super villain on humanity over his rage and anger that humanity immediately came a hair's breathe away from WW3 the second he went MIA.

Which is a lot more sellable if you want to paint Veidt in a more sympathetic manner as far as him making Manhattan the scapegoat for being Nixon's bitch boy and escalating the worst aspects of American imperialism, along with offer a more solid reason for Manhattan killing Rorschach; Manhattan got played and the only way to salvage anything from the carnage is to kill Rorschach so Manhattan can be scapegoated and so Dan and Laurie can also pass Rorschach's death off as another murder Manhattan committed when he "snapped" (note also, in the movie Dan and Laurie don't go into hiding and imply that they told the NYC police that Manhattan would kill again if they were harmed).

Ultimately, conspiracies are what you get when you see fact patterns that make no intuitive sense on their own, but think there must be an underlying rationale. The actions of TPTB are a great source for conspiracies because they constantly do things that make absolutely no intuitive sense to normal Americans.

Their actions are just an extreme example of how in-group conforming behaviours appear to the out-group. They're like any small, insular group, turning to increasingly bizarre behaviours as external pressures are removed and internal feedbacks are strengthened. The upper echelons of every cult, every religion, every sociopolitical group, all devolve in the same direction of sexual perversion and decadence. It's a story as old as time itself. They've reached the point where they're so immersed in their in-group culture that they think it's entirely normal, with the result that they no longer guard against exposure to outside world. That's where their unintuitive behaviours emerge. They make no sense because their minds are entirely filled with nonsense.

It's why I was ranting earlier (and probably not explaining myself too well). The WEF/elite/whatever people all think that technology is magic, because everyone around them says that it is. They all repeat it back to one another until it becomes facts in their minds. Technology can do anything! Sure, we can monitor when people swallow pills with a chip, because chips are magical devices that are capable of performing physically impossible feats. We can engineer perfect vaccines for every disease, becaue we have antivirus software and viruses are just genetic software, so we can apply the same magic to people. If it's not working, then the people are too stupid. We can't be wrong, we're the intelligent people! We know this because we have all the money!

As great as his "cut off your hand or die" ultimatum is (and it shows the killer was too much of a coward to do what he did to that girl to himself), Rorschach's breaking point being a clear snap instead of coming off like he just casually switched from pacifist to murderer is a better showcase of him being less stable than most.

Of course, even in a red state, depending on how the party apparatus is set up, there are still some risks. I have more of an outsider's view on America and from what I saw there is definitely not one cohesive social identity.
