Real fucking tasteful Disney. The villain is a bitter aging Peter Pan. Meanwhile IRL Disney Peter Pan actor Bobby Driscoll gets abandoned by Hollywood and turns to drugs once he's aged past his kid years, and fucking dies in an abandoned building at 31.

Slow fucking clap. You goddamn monsters.
That has to be intentional. There is no way when they made the script they didn't check and say "hey maybe we shouldn't mock a dead man who had a tragic end to his life".

That’s the weird thing, in some previous trailers, closed captioning named him Mean Dean. The theory is after the leak about Pluto came out, they scrambled to change the villain and did the Peter Pan thing(maybe as a shot at “entitled ma babies”) and instead shit all over a dead man.

Considering how long animation takes, and that the leak about Pluto was, what, back in February... I don't believe it.

I mean, it’s not like the animation is super well done or anything. The Pluto thing could have just been an earlier draft or something. The animation between the original trailer and the final film definitely changed. Just look at the ponies.

Yes, but you have to rewrite the script and have new voice work done... it's too much work to get done in three months.

is there any good reason to see this chip n dale shit aside from REFERENCES! BRAND! NOSTALGIA!
because it looks like total horse shit that would only appeal to... well. manchildren disney fans. (guess it hit its mark lol)
sounds like a big enough trash fire that it could be worth a ddl, but not a torrent

Haven't watched it yet, but shipping Gadget with Zipper seems like a middle finger to the CDRR fandom which had endless C+G/D+G wars (and then there was the 1% attention whores who shipped Gadget with their original fanfiction character). Altho the last time I checked (which was like 10-15 years ago) "the fandom" was mostly 20-something and older men simping for Gadget, some to levels that could only be described as unsettling.
I think one of them, a fat middled indian (poo not dot) was making disturbing, terrible quality drawn porn, and got an article on SA frontpage.

I think watching this movie was a mistake ...you know why? Because I actually own an album collection of 80s/90s comics based on the Disney afternoon, and now when I try reading the chip and Dale comics the voices I hear reading chip and dale's lines are that little shit from big mouth and the other guy.

I have to remind myself that's NOT what c and d sound like.

A shame this movie is ruining the joy we have going back to these stories.

The one I remember was some middle aged or older guy, actually married with kids, making shitty fanart of him and Gadget sharing 'tender' moments. That isn't a euphemism for sex, I mean doing things like hugging her, fanning her, etc. Very weird.
If I remember, the way he drew himself he looked like a balding Ned Flanders, which, unsurprisingly, didn't help. But that was years ago too, my memory's fuzzy, and I don't know or want to know how to find the stuff again.

That's not what happened. Yes, Driscoll's time as child star was over but neither Disney nor Hollywood made him use drugs. His parents took him out of the Hollywood acting school and he returned to a normal school where he got bullied. During that time he started to take drugs. He had the chance to get roles as an adult and even had a few but his drug addiction ruined everything.

and fucking dies in an abandoned building at 31.
Sorry, not Disneys fault. Disney is scum but it's not responsible for the death of this drug addict.

Slow fucking clap. You goddamn monsters.
Yeah no. I highly doubt the people who made the movie thought about Bobby Driscoll. They just wanted to turn the character of Peter Pan into something he never wanted to become - a bitter, heartless adult.

Ugly Sonic was probably the only part of the film I really got into. Yeah, overused joke aside, he had sort of a weird character arc and him flying down at the end made me go, yeah, go Sonic. It was stupid, but nice to give him a little bit of a win.
it's retarded and doesn't even make sense. so cartoons can change their look, but ugly sonic is suddenly it's own character - only to score some internet meme points about something people already are hardly aware of, the sonic movie came out over two fucking years ago.

Just a simple matter of deprogramming oneself, a simple fix.... Or well maybe not that simple

I'd say blame the time it takes to produce animation but...

A. This crap looks like it was put together with duct tape and spit as quick as possible

B. Yet again the dipshits who made this crap don't realize oh yeah time moves on, and memes die in short time more so in the case of ugly sonic since they scrapped the original design and never talked about it again. They don't even have the sequel being out this year to fall back on.

I wish Disney would remake some of their failed past movies. I get that there's more risk and remaking successful movies is far more safe, but I think there's an audience who'd love to see Treasure Planet, Atlantis, The Black Cauldron, etc have a second chance at life.
But why? Every live action remake so far has been vastly inferiour to the original, and it's not just Disney - anime remakes like Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop sucked monkey ass too. It feels strange saying that, but I'm glad my favourite Disney movie from my childhood (Atlantis) bombed - that means that they'll just leave it alone and won't smear their greasy, greedy rat paws over it. And, luckily, there's no chance they'll remake my second favourite (Emperor's new groove), since that would be disrespectful to injuns in the current_year.

If we lived in a perfect world, instead of getting failed live action remakes for animated movies, we'd be getting animated remakes for failed live action movies. I'd watch a cartoon version of the Lone Ranger.
