He isn't lying about that. He actually does live tips goal to tips goal because he thinks money he has right away is for instant gratification, because he expects he will get as much if not more tomorrow. Phil has the financial capacity of giving your kids twenty dollars in the store and watching as they buy all the candy they can, because they have no thought of whether that money will exist for them again in the future.

The day his whales dry up is the day he lashes out angrily at everyone for bursting this weird little reality he lives in, because Phil has essentially lived like a pampered brat since the day he was born. Motherfucker didn't even move out of his parents until he was 27 and then he struck a goldmine with internet 'entertainment' he has been milking since.

I wonder if anyone genuinely thought that he was going to ease up on the tips begging once gifted subs came around. I've actually thought about this before, and I think the perfect job for Phil would be as a science museum tour guide. That way he can show everyone how smart he is, larping as a scientist to a captive audience of parents and children. Then at the end, he can beg for tips as he's always done.

I'm a younger dude so most of these old Zelda games were before my time, but I have to think that the biggest appeal to a modern viewing audience would be the nostalgia, right? Like I would only play Pokemon Emerald on my Gameboy to reminisce. Don't get me wrong, there are retro games that are fun to watch, but Zelda doesn't really look like one of them tbh. Like how much of his audience does he expect to be interested in these 80s/90s titles? They're all in their 20s and early 30s for the most part.
