I think you've hit on the key point: you could give Ralph the best possible advice and even if he had the will to do it (and we're already in fantasy land here), he would be too stupid and unhinged to carry it out effectively, and would end up owning himself. It is in fact a subtle form of life ruination to tell Ralph to do something productive, since it may inspire him to go and be retarded.

It's like he exists in the sweetspot between realistic and magical thinking: not so far gone where it's difficult for him to perform tasks, but just based in reality enough that he feels inclined to waddle out into the world and get his head beat in Portugal, host an insane bowling event where he kerb stomps someone, or read KF while driving and get in an accident.

You've gotten what I said wrong. Regardless of Ralph's proclivity to retard rampage he can undeniably come read his threads, see what people are focusing on and tailor what he does to try and mitigate it or outright avoid shit he would otherwise be completely oblivious to. He doesn't wear his Kid Diddler or cowboy hat anymore because people pointed out how dumb it is. He can read about people poking holes in the bullshit he spews and change his story before he even has one to prop himself up with.

I'm hardly saying anything controversial. You legitimately can't say these threads aren't all two-way streets which occasionally work in the favour of their subject matter without just being factually wrong to common sense.

If Ralph were capable of reconsidering his course of action based on valid criticism that has been given to him (extensively) through his thread(s) most of the best arcs would have never happened.

Ralph was warned over and over again through every single step of his relationship with Faith how what he was doing was a bad idea, yet he still made the worst choice possible (even when told beforehand what the consequences would be), got her pregnant, replaced her with someone arguably worse, got her pregnant, etc. etc. etc.
