"I really need people to pitch in! Give what you can."

She's literally begging for gibs (and for something entirely self-indulgent at that, she has a comfortable place to stay absolutely free) and yet manages to sound so bitchy and demanding about it. Not even a 'please'. Social entitlement indeed.

I don't understand what diploma mill she went to that let THAT graduate. WITH A MASTERS.
Don't get me wrong, getting a masters is a respectable thing but the grades are typically so overinflated it's an absolute joke. A buddy of mine tried to do a gpa-reform by getting a masters, aced those classes, but got zero medical school interviews. AFAIK they even offer one year online master's programs these days. So unless you're at a really competitive special program, chances are if you tied a monkey (or Staph) to the program, they can graduate :sighduck:

Hell, I'm far more baffled by the undergraduate graduation.

Do social programs ever hire people just to handle paperwork, do transcription, make necessary duplicates, stuff like that? Do they have notaries? Apologies if you're not in a position to know
Depends what you mean by "social programs," but I'm pretty sure the answer's yes. That's basically administrative assistant work, same as doing paperwork and dictation and making copies at e.g. a real estate office. Same as needs to get done anywhere.

The last time I looked, in my medium-small city there were several nonprofit organizations that had entry level positions for data entry/administrative assistant stuff, sometimes with other duties depending on the size of the organization. One I remember was an admin assistant for a supported living organization that helped mentally ill people manage living in the community. It was the usual secretarial stuff plus manning the reception desk, justt for a good cause. I think that when it gets to access to tons of protected data, places prefer someone they're paying rather than the chaos of volunteers.

This was more than a decade ago, because I ended up getting into healthcare and that's a different job market, but someone's always got to do the faxing and the filing.

I think notaries are more likely to be doing another job and also incidentally a notary, but I'm less sure about that.

You know, Yarrow, some people in our society have recently discovered a way to obtain money. They call this technique, “getting a job.” And even you qualify.
Stephanie has openly expressed that jobs outside of her field of study and the level of expertise she feels that she holds are beneath her. She has all the disdain of a 1990s boomer at an IBM country club at the very notion of stooping to the level of "mail room clerk" or (shudder) "dishwasher." "Anarchoenby," indeed.

This is the thing that gets me borderline-MATI. Yeah she's a kooky sanitizer-drinking dork with ghost husbands and patches that look like they were painted in the dark with a toothbrush. But she is not a pitiful victim of society who deserves a SPED rubber stamp and a government check. She's openly admitted to being totally unwilling to humble herself and get a job in the dish pit of a diner or picking and packing in a warehouse with the rest of us lowly hoi polloi.

Why is she getting an apartment instead of just paying her parents rent? Does she realize she's going to have to cook, clean and take care of herself alone now?
Because then she can larp as a functioning adult and so her parents won't have someone physically abusing them in their old age any more.

There's always the faint hope that this is the family to move out their NEETcow, pay their rent for a couple of months and then then change the locks and not let them move back in to the family home.

But I had those hopes for Jake Alley's mom, too.

Wow, really trying to cash in on the troon angle, lol. Step it up, allies, give athyr money that you've earned so ath can buy $3.50 boutique sodas at her free apartment since she's too good for a real job and is moving out of her middle-class neighborhood or you're literally supporting genocide

You sure about that? This is Stephanie we're talking about. The slightest criticism and it's hand sanitizer cocktails on the house babayyy
I haven’t been following her for long, so my optimism is still in the process of being regulated back to realism. Maybe if she really needed the money she could sort glass or something.

What a bitch.

Yeah, I agree. So many people actually have a bad hand and need help. She’s just a lazy arrogant bag. I can’t really be mad at her because that solves nothing and she’s in for a miserable life the way she’s going. But I still hate the thought of her abusing the system.
