Creative works you enjoyed until politics happened - "How politics made me hate Welcome to Nightvale and other things"

That's not the only instance of that, there's other shit too describing her as light skinned. that's the one time it can be misconstrued as "oh she was just scared" because that's what white kinda means in this context.

The same shit can be seen in other media, like that Homestuck comic with the grey people where the human characters are constantly referenced from time to time as having "pink" skin to the oint there are actual compilations of this but the og creator once backlash happened for his funny characters that weren't aliens all being white kids.

To put a long story short, Rowling is one of many authors who have not only gone mad with power from sudden popularity and success but eventually tried appealing to a specific culty segment of social media politics team poisoned types that actively fucking hate them no matter what they do and just want the characters to be gay black trannies and FUCK . Even if you give them that, they will still hate you for past slights. I actually wonder sometimes how many people in that specific clique of people are similar stories to the popular authors that draw their ire. Like how much of it's just a purity spiral of fucked over creators resulting inthem just joining in on the hate-filled groupthink towards anything not viewed by some kind of corporate hack as "diverse"?
Sorry to quote again Andrew stated that all fankids were aracial during the Peachy Fiasco with Trickstermode!Jane
the Trolls were joked to be "demons" because of their appearance. I think lime bloods were an allegory to the Jewish Holocaust IMO.
Andrew Hussie did make a long-ass post against his Tumblrina fanbase raging against him but the Tumblr is long gone (but might be archived in his thread here).

The caucasian joke in act 6 was after the rot had begin setting in and was literally just a joke about the race headcanon wars. It was censored to "peachy" and he blamed it on the "bad racist fans harassing non-whiteheadcanons" from what I remember but I saw barely any of that and a lot more people calling for hussie's head on a pike for "confirming the racist boring white people headcanon"or whatever the fuck.
The first 5 acts have MULTIPLE refrences to the characters being white, including dave and his bro being referred to as "white rappers" because of them being literal stereotypes of goofy dudebro guys that do shit like fight on the roof with shitty swords because they think it's cool but to the bystanders it probably just looks like those REAL youtube videos from 2008-9ish where you got dumbasses doing the same shit. That part in particular spawned another shitshow that resulted in retroactive continuity because hussie in some commentary went "haha if this was real life it'd probably legally be considered child abuse thank god thats not real haha" more or less.
it's not like it wasn't open to interpretation, though. there was some also now gone social media Q and A thing by hussie where he more or less went "I didn't really think too much about race when making these characters so you could probably interpret them as anything except black yes I know that's extremely racist of me". There's probably archives of all this somewhere but I'm too lazy to go digging right now.

I can't be assed to find the chapter but when the ginger says house elves enjoy being slaves one of the books says something like "Hermione's green eyes flashed with anger" or some shit like that.

Blacks don't have green eyes unless they are extremely mixed and mostly white.

Way back in a simpler time when the sjw movement was mostly centered on blacks and not troons JK wanted reddit updoots so she said the bitch was black.

Green eyes?! In fanarts/ the older books/Emma Watson, Hermione was implied to have brown eyes to go with her mousy appearance. Some retcon/Mandela Effect on my behalf? I recalled that Parvati in the same novel was pissed at Ron and Hermione argued with him before or later and years later Rowling admitted that they "would need serious couples therapy irl"

Why am I not surprised she'd love Reddit updoots?

Same with Hermione maybe being black, her skin tone isn't mentioned once and bushy hair could be taken to mean black hair.

No clue who did this art but the deathly hallows I had only had Harry potter's face in it gainst some orange ass background presumably done by the same person that did like all the other promo artfor the books back int he day. There's several bits of promo and book art from like back during the sorcerers/philosophers stone times where hermoine's clearly fucking white. It's actually kinda crazy how when you compare the book art before the movies existed to the actors for the movies you can see they directly casted based on the book appearances. There's weird little inconsistencies like the guy that played harry having the wrong eye color but it's easily overlooked.
Point is the "I never said hermoine was white ;)" shit was absolutely asscrack pull shit that did not match up with around 2 DECADES worth of proof saying otherwise solely tied to people laughing in confusion about some harry potter play having a black woman play hermoine when all the other cast members looked like their respective characters.

Then I started following her on Twitter, and one day after one of the many, many public out cries of ~twanzphobia~ (maybe when JKR first went full TERF) she came out and said that Alanna was ~acktually~ non-binary because she did male things instead of going to get the training noble girls got. Sorry, "gender non-conforming", with the implication of being under the non-binary Troon umbrella.
It never fails to amaze me how the ones rallying for an open interpretation of gender are the ones with the most rigid, most fixed and most restrictive concepts of gender.

Like, no "me and the good ol' boys" bible belter conservative would be this fucking narrow in their idea and concept of femininity.
Traditional "oppressive" view: She's a girl that wants to kick ass. She's a badass girl.
Modern "progressive" view: She's a girl that wants to kick ass, but girls aren't allowed to kick ass. In order to kick ass, she must be something else. If she says she still identifies as a girl, that only means she doesn't know her own identity and we must lecture her.

Look at any person with a "non-binary" or "gender non-conforming" bio and see how they present themselves. Their ideas of gender identity are ludicrously oppressive.

They confuse “gender” with “personality“. It’s as simple as that.

Yeah. That's another pet-peeve of mine.

Being gay isn't a personality. Being non-binary isn't a personality.

It's funny how I never ran into a person that built their identity around being hetero, but I've seldom run into a person that's from the LGBT crowd that didn't build their identity around being something from the rainbow of genderconfusion.

I really don't mind whatever identity people go for, it's none of my business, really. Let them be whoever they want to be with whatever labels they want to use to describe themselves, but it's just so tiresome when you get the feeling that they have virtually nothing else to go by other than that label.

It's eerie how these people are complete mirrors of the same regressive fundies they like to rail against.

Traditionalist: she's a girl who wants to kick ass. Only boys can kick ass, and she's a girl.
"Therefore, we must prevent her from kicking ass in order to retain our worldview."

Woke; she's a girl who wants to kick ass. Only boys can kick ass, and she's a girl.
"Therefore, we must prevent her from being a girl in order to retain our worldview."

Both have an incredibly narrow view of the world, where things that aren't mutually exclusive (being a woman and wanting to do something traditionally done by men) are seen as completely incompatible, and things that actually are mutually exclusive (being a woman and having XY chromosomes) are being pushed. Anything that goes against their chosen narrative must be rationalized away, hammered back into compliance with maximum prejudice, or outright destroyed.

Social Justice/Woke is religion for atheists.

I'm sure it has already been mentioned 100 times but I'm putting video games here.

Video games have become like movies where every plot is a rehash of last year's rehash. All creativity has been bled from the industry and this entire entertainment medium has been driven into the ground. Everything is rented and online, so if you say nigger in the chat once you're out $60. It's not even worth playing any of the current games out there.

I remember when people thought better computer hardware would open up a new age of exploration and interactive art. Instead of all that, here's your 3D virtual crotch wound. Dilator DLC skins are $5.99 each.

Back then racebending used to be fun but alas it got corrupted by tumblr's politics so there obviously meant there was deeper meaning or something.
Then I started following her on Twitter, and one day after one of the many, many public out cries of ~twanzphobia~ (maybe when JKR first went full TERF) she came out and said that Alanna was ~acktually~ non-binary because she did male things instead of going to get the training noble girls got. Death of tomboys will echo for ages to come.

That's why I play indie titles. Those usually have some modicum of inspiration, that'll make them enjoyable. It's really neat. I never conciously decided to give AAA games the finger and boycott them. They just became such a festering pile of worthless, repulsive trash, I never even get tempted to play them.

I absolutely loathe these WHOA 360 NO SCOPE HEADSHOT BONUS +150 POINTS FOR DOING A SWAG YOLO DAB MIDAIR YOOOOOOOOOOO bullshit FPS games... which is quite a shame, FPS games used to be my favorite genre. Games like Half Life or Quake 2 are just so much fun, now every game in that genre has been a CoD clone fore over a decade.

Ha... :optimistic:
How about you criticise Bioware for a shoddy product and they ban your account from the forum and their game launcher, meaning that for one mildly critical post you lose all your games on that platform. :story:
It's a mental illness.
Or people being attention seekers... well guess that is a mental illness, too.
It's the "I'm Gluten inolerant" of our modern times. It'll be replaced in time by some other fad, maybe Fridays for Future or Putin-hate, I dunno.

Haha no, but now that you mention it, that is another one I quit reading due to political sperging. Oh how heroes fall (:_(
I was talking about the Wings of Fire and Warriors series, but I didn't wanna say it cause it might sound autistic
What did they do to Warriors? Scared to ask but also morbidly curious.

I also don't read the series anymore, and quit following it after the main character died. That was really just the last straw, I hadn't closely kept up for years before that book due to aging out of the target demographic, and when the central character died I didn't see a point in staying invested.

From what I hear, the author(s) and their harpercollins overlords have been injecting more and more Current Year politics into the story. More representation, more brainwashing of young readers. As in...more atheist characters, more queer couples/characters, open borders, etc. This isn't a firsthand account btw, just what I've heard from people who still read Warriors.
Also the community, from what I've seen, likes to pester the authors for confirmation that decade-old characters are gay or lesbo or whatever. I'm sure if I did some digging I might even find lolcowish behavior

Off topic but I just realized Warriors has a merch store now. The series truly is a cash cow now huh?

Wasn't there also some pedo cat or something?

I don't understand the merch store. The characters are cats so you could just buy any random cat plush and pretend it's a Warriors character.

I've never read the series, but when I was much more active in Tumblr I had a mutual in the "Warrior Cats" fandom and sprited cats

There was another kerfuffle about some newer authoress that was once a fan or whatever and the fandom exploded, I think I have the section from this YouTube video:
