Btw i made the initial question not with holo in mind, but with en indies, because recently i see they are so desperated to put Council levels of lore when in the end they "forget" all that and make the usual coomer content.

The initial issue with AlphaOmega was the absolutely exceptional way they presented themselves during the big Council reveal. Kiara was 100% right about the chuunibyou management. They just wanted in on the epic vtuber lore stuff, but instead they just looked retarded and it seemed like they were trying way too hard to one up everybody, when the reality is that most fans do not care about the meaningless vtuber powerlevels. Remember that this was also around the time that during one of Gura's streams she was talking about how 'some new management' called her list of games she wanted permissions for 'overkill' in front of some of the council members. Even though Gura was making a joke out of it, this was during low point of fan satisfaction with EN management, and with AlphaOmega not making a good impression, the Gura story quickly became more rrat fuel that this new manager person was actually AlphaOmega (it probably wasn't, just to be clear). It didn't help that people didn't seem to like them interacting so much with the actual on-screen talents because it seemed like they were a super glorified vtweeter who hadn't done anything but make bad impressions since being revealed.

I'm certain they do plenty behind the scenes, but they burned the initial goodwill most Holo fans give to anyone connected to Cover through their questionable antics. Oh and how could I forget that they unwittingly activated many people's troon sensors when they wouldn't confirm their gender, and that's never good because a lot of people will have their guard up pretty high around the 'gender nonconforming persons' as they do tend to bring retardation in their wake (once again I'm sure they were just playing up their character's lore but you know how things can get when it comes to the special alphabet people).

I'm only disappointed that Gura's element isn't 'A', but pleased that Haachama is 'Ha'! Also, lol for Aqua being just 'Aquarium' and Coco being 'Asacocopium'. This is the secret ingredient in Asacoco for sure.

Looking at their twitter account, the last time there any sort of activity at all was on March 4th, when they liked and retweeted the announcement of holoEN opening male auditions. As far as I'm aware, no explanation has been given for their apparent absence. Not that they ever really had much of a presence in the first place.

Lore is like sprinkles it’s nice when appropriate and lightly applied. It is not the main ingredient in the recipe for success.

I had to cast anime girls aside for a week and focus on work and enjoyed coming back to 60 pages unread to catch up on the latest sperging and clip posts. Anyway to make this thread relevant I just want to say I have admiration for NA talent working for asian overseas corporate since I’m dealing with Hong Kong currently and the time difference among other things is maddening. Obligatory CHINK HATE.

Not important but I have wondered just how much input the girls have on lore given the reaper was a mallgoth and nature is a vegan. Sana also talked about astrophotography in her debut and iirc expressed some knowledge of cosmology, but she dropped the astrology stuff very quickly so I'm unsure if all of the space stuff was lore bullshit or if she just hated the astrology (based).

Meanwhile Ollie despised her model and we can assume she hated her lore too since she wasn't happy being a zombie. Ina probably hated her model too because eldritch monstergirl covered in tentacles is a pretty hard sell compared to a phoenix girl who just has feather earrings and a flame based colour scheme.

Juniper makes some attempt at lore for some reason, never got why since she will go from moth monster, to healing sock sniffer, to biological experiment gone wrong to tomboy.

Can anyone fill me in on ironmouse? Some people were alleging shes lying about her age (allegedly shes 30 or over but claims to be younger) and there were some archived deleted tweets of her saying she has a daughter but if anyone brings it up people lose their marbles on the normie side of the internet

There's also contradiction about her voice. One point she claimed its just how she sounds naturally then another time she said it was caused by medical issues. There was also some shit about a abusive ex husband

None of its a big deal if you ask me but I autistically enjoy vtuber gossip like this

Omega is their producer and de-facto boss of the whole branch so inserting himself into the lore as a God or something feels kinda self-indulgent, it's pretty obvious he was the one who came up with the Council lore. I think he just noticed that people see him as slacking around whenever he's active, also that gender incident probably didn't help even if it was a nothingburger people actually made a fuss about it on r/hololive and even T-chan seemed irritated by his shenanigans.
