Righto, where to start with this one? Let's start with Tony's penis (source, archive):

What I'm getting at is that, as with most AGPs, Tony is geared to reinterpret his past in a way that supports his view that he has always been transgender, and also that he has the black and white thinking of an autist.
Tony has repeatedly said that he, essentially, grew up online. And particularly that he grew up online as Erin. But so far we've not found any still-existing evidence of that. The earliest we have are his Livejournal entries (archive) from when he was 15/16 or older and seem pretty normal for a boy of that age. So everything here is what he has said about himself, and we have to approach it with the above in mind.

The playground and classroom aside, what was Tony's life like? Well his parents divorced when he was a child. It's not clear when, but definitely before he was 13 (source, archive). He seems to have been subjected to different regimes with each, but he has described both as being fundamentalist Christians, "just shy of [the] Westboro baptists" (source, archive).
Tony has also said more generally that his dad burned books he considered "of the devil" and specifically that he burned Tony's Harry Potter books. I don't discount either of these claims but I do wonder if the supposed burning of Harry Potter books is for Twitter clout against the Queen TERF Herself (source, archive; source, archive).
Most disturbing of all, however, is an earlier claim, one made without any obvious need for airbrushing the past. That Tony's dad made Tony burn the books (source, archive):
A young boy finds a book, or several books, about a child like himself. An ordinary child, living an ordinary but dull and downtrodden life, discovers something secret and special within him. And then a scary adult with extreme and arbitrary rules, but who Tony is meant to love, makes Tony cast that into the fire. It's not an experience I'd wish on a child.
Aside from the books, Tony's dad is what we might at best call a "traditional" sort:

It seems fair to say that Tony does not seem to have been his father's ideal of masculinity. But under the gender lens, any sign of "acting girly" is taken to be a sign of having a pink brain. I could see how his father could have caused him to feel very insecure in his masculinity and contributed to his anxiety. This could have caused him to scrutinize every thing he did through the lenses of gender, and cause him to believe others were judging him in a similar way. It explains the jack and coke, trying to show off about sex stories and the like when he was "boy mode". Being " Erin" online would have been an escape from the pressure of being male, because no one would expect maleness from him. He could breathe a sigh of relief and not feel so anxious and self conscious. No wonder he considered it a refuge.
Additionally having a hoarder parent would make one feel very out of control of their environment. Online he could curate and control his identity. Self harm it's often said is an attempt to regain control over one's life by controlling the body.
This really gives a lot of insight into his psyche. Great work.
I grew up with a parent that was quite judgmental, not to the same extent, but it definitely caused me to have low self esteem and become preoccupied with how others might be judging me, which in turn gave me social anxiety. I can't help but see the parallels in Tony's upbringing. Oddly enough my other parent has hoarder tendencies, it caused me a feeling of claustrophobia and stress I was not even aware of until I moved out of the home.
