I hope he gets raped and murdered in prison.
One look at him and his fellow inmates will settle for just murder:
"Yeah I wouldn't rape that with someone else's broomstick."
Chris might have been persuaded to plead guilty, or at least no contest, but I bet he refused because part of the deal was not going back to 14BC.
That's absolutely why he's still in jail. Spending time in a relatively comfortable confinement, where all his physical needs are met, and boredom is his only burden, isn't much of a punishment for Chris. Meanwhile, losing his precious sonichu temple is about the worst punishment possible, at least as far as Chris is concerned. I wonder if he assumed (like a spoiled toddler) the court would change its mind and send him home to 14BLC if he obstructed the court enough and waited long enough in jail.
Also, compare his mugshots from before and after his hospital stint. His post hospital picture looks a little, well, broken. I think it finally might have sunk in that he's never returning to 14BLC. That might also explain his recent drawing where he moves 14BLC in his head to his imaginary kingdom of CWCville.
If he doesn't take a plea deal, he still has to go to trial.
As you know, in J&DR it will be a simple bench trial, which is a lot easier proceeding than a jury trial. I don't foresee it taking very long. Then we get to sentencing, which is the only thing that ever really mattered in this case.
I'm absolutely certain the state is paying him.
And I'm absolutely certain he's not doing this case for the money.
Heilberg seems to me to be a stand up guy.
The right to trial by jury in Virginia is absolute.
Sshhh. Nobody tell Chris that.
Or do. Chris learning the hard way that Phoenix Wright is just a game could be very amusing.
Maybe @SigueSigueSpergnik has information that I don't,
Either way, I can't be bothered to find out for certain. It's a shame it's a closed court thanks to the weens or we could have field reporters on the scene to know everything for certain. Weens ruin everything.
No, his practice is in the independent city of Charlottesville.
I may be mistaken, but I'm sure I saw somewhere his office was in Stanardsville.
Fixed that for you.
I'd wager on it going to indictment rather than them just letting him go.
Letting him go is the cruelest thing the court could do to him. And probably the worst for their own public relations. Chris is 100% guaranteed to re-offend if given the opportunity, and everyone knows it. Chris, himself, is probably looking forward to it.
If I was allowed to hit him
Shock collar. Trust me on that.
a new identity would probally work out pretty well if he agreed to move and tried to keep a low profile
I don't think it's possible for Chris to maintain a new identity. The sonichu medallion would give him away immediately.
It’s been proposed that if Chris took a deal today, he would be out of jail. Is that the case?
Part of Chris accepting a plea deal involves Chris pleading guilty (or at least no contest). Once a defendant pleads guilty, the whole case skips forward to sentencing. The court is not going to draw that out, especially with an accepted and agreed on plea deal on the table. They'll want to be finished with him as soon as possible.
There would be some time needed for processing and to find somewhere to put him, but they wouldn't house him at the jail for any longer than they absolutely must.
