Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

She claims that "he didnt do anything to anybody." She says she "knows he had his reasons." She says he wanted to "get closer to their children instead of paying attention to things, the other bad things" What the fuck?!?!?!?!? What are we missing here folks?

Allegedly, she is a drug user according to her family members.

Even if we're going by a raw numbers perspective, irrespective of character, it's one verses twenty. Obama only made this shooting about Floyd because Floyd was a black man. It was totally a race thing. He is saying that one black thug is worth the lives of twenty children, and it's probably because he just thinks they're all either Caucasian or Spanish. Pulling the spotlight from a bunch of child murders to Floyd just makes him look like a big piece of shit.
Again it was the anniversary of Floyd's death but it doesn't change the fact that it was moronically tone deaf to not make two separate tweets.

Until one of your relatives puts a hole in you with them.
Stay strapped or get clapped. Doesn't matter. The first responder is always going to be you.

It's not tone deaf, Obama wanted to talk about how he loved the influx of fentanyl in this country and supported its recreational use regardless of a lot of users being exposed to literal death causing amounts of it, cough cough.

I've don't understand why schools still insist on the lockdown procedure. Even when I was a kid, I wondered how it makes sense to all huddle up and stay in the classroom when realistically if someone's going to shoot up our school, they're going to target classrooms during school hours and we're all just sitting there like nice meaty targets? You really think they're going to nicely knock on the door and if no one answers, they're just going to be like, "oh this one's empty" like they do in the drills? The fact that school shooters are often young, and have presumably gone through these lockdown drills every year for most of their lives, means they KNOW all of those classrooms are full of kids just sitting there, and if they actually want to kill people, they're going to.

We do safety training every year at my company and the rule is "run, hide, fight". You only hide if there's no way for you to safely evacuate and you need to barricade the fuck out of every door. You need to have escape routes and know your emergency exits. I know the complaint is always "We ShOuLdN't HaVe To TeACh KiDs ThEsE tHiNgS!" but lunatics are still going to kill people even if guns were banned, and we're just teaching kids to sit and wait. Sit and wait for someone to come in with a knife or a homemade bomb and get yet another high score because you're not teaching them to GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE ATTACKER.

In theory, lockdowns work if 1) the school is notified of the attack before the attacker makes it to the school, and 2) all doors inside the school are locked so the attacker can’t enter any classroom. Having people go outside while the attacker could potentially be outside makes it like a killing field, especially if it’s a playground where there are fences around it, which many schools do.

I saw that article and yeah she's a dumbass. If she's a druggie as others are saying though, not surprising she was almost completely out of his life and didn't have a clue what was going on.

Fat chance in hell anyone forgives him. With her reaction, I sure wouldn't.

I am comparing this to slavery. Why did white people end slavery? Did you expect the slaves to do it?

The doors in public schools are not hard to bust down because they're made of Chineseium. Would that stop a deranged autist letting the demon play Panzermensch (fucking banger btw) because the reality is that it wouldn't.
How would a school be notified of an attack as it is currently happening? Something taught in self defense classes is that you will absolutely never know you're entering a deadly altercation until it is happening to you, hence why you're always the first responder. There's only limited time to act in a timely manner as a response to an attacker, in this case, the chain of communication could not act appropriately, nor has communication worked for Parkland, Santa Fe, or Saugus. You do not know it's happening until it begins.

Yeah, in theory. Unfortunately, with every school shooting that occurs, none of what is practiced ends up being the case in reality, so it's like... how many kids need to be murdered before anyone actually stops and thinks, "Hey, maybe we shouldn't be telling them to all huddle up in a corner"?

And yeah, the fencing around schools is an issue, but that's why knowing exits and escape routes are important, and moving targets are harder to hit.

11:27 Video ext door propped open by teacher
11:28 Truck crashes. Teacher goes inside to retrieve phone. 2 men from funeral parlor come out and are driven off by Ramos firing at them
11:30 Teacher calls 911 says shots fired
Is 'teacher' a singular person in these three instances? Or were these different people? If the teacher that propped open the door and called 911 I would put that failure on par with the local cops. Edit to add: I guess this will be the end of hearing about people advocating for 'Open Door' policies...

The cops are still impotent, worthless pieces of shit. That said, they wouldn't have been in a position to make such a terrible call if this certified Woman Moment didn't happen.

it's also harder to hit what you're shooting at if you're receiving return fire
