ProjectMoon Megathread - Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, Limbus Company, etc.

I don't particularly like chuuni characters (which as you mentioned, Don fits the bill) precisely because of how these kinds of fandoms always go nuts over them, and the more something gets shoved in my face the less likely I'm gonna like it. It's why I don't check social media that much these days, but when I still get bombarded off-site with content...

Gareth at least has the justification of being a Bronze rarity character in a game where there's a lot of units. I can't imagine there'd be a lot of EGO (considering it'd take a lot of time to get an individual animation for each sinner), so something so mid is pretty lame. What little we've seen of her Fluid Sac animation feels better in comparison.
Yeah, I can understand that feeling.
Personally, I don't think there will be 12 different versions of an E.G.O for every Sinner, only 4 for certain characters. And, that the personal E.G.O.s will definitely be upgraded by events in the story, possibly even changing animations. Not to mention, Limbus will definitely get PM some big money, which they'll probably spend hiring more people, so no matter what, we'll get more E.G.O.s in less time further down the road.

I kinda like it myself. The cast is full of edgelords from the looks of it, so having someone who is a literal caricature is good way to balance the "gloomy" atmosphere in my opinion (I mean, as long as they don't exaggerate it, which from the looks of it, they will).

Also I don't really give a crap about fandoms. I have yet to find one that's not a dumpster fire.

FGO has absolute big dick money and it's still pretty much one dude running the animations, isn't it? Sounds kinda counterintuitive but I rather PM invest the cash in other places like future projects that TDD game better be good goddamnit or even HamHamPangPang.

Yeah fandoms are fucking awful regardless of what it's for but it's kinda hard to find people to talk to about games that are still as niche as PM's stuff. Depending on the type of fan you are, you'll also be at higher risk of exposure to these insane people.

PM EN makes for some prime popcorn material though. There's a fuckton of hilarious meltdowns from Chocorufuru as of late with her being selfish and egotistical, Jona recently had the really, really stupid Roland cake thing which gave a super easy SJW block list if you haven't already blocked the major ones ;), Maxwell is doing the usual kin/furry stuff like breaking Toyhou.se TOS by making EmmaNoah a character... Whenever Artfight comes around again it'll also be a good source of Yan knockoffs for quick laughs.

To provide new, relevant content for the thread: it seems that Project Moon will be making an appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2022 to promote Limbus (post here), and the next HamHamPangPang theme is (almost) the entire far right row of LOR: Molar Office, Gaze Office, Love Town, W-Corp Agents, Cane Office, and R-Corp. Notable items include a Rabbit Protocol Hoodie and the previously teased W-Corp Hat. (standees here, non-standee products here and here, food here)

Thoughts?

FGO has had horrible management for its entire existance, with most if not all money made by it going elsewhere. There definitely is more than one guy working on all aspect of it though. As long as PM has 5 employees working on animations, they'll probably be able to have double the production rate of FGO, lol
I haven't been in touch with the weirdos of the PM fandom recently, are they doing the same stuff as always, or has something new come up?
I am very interested in what we'll see on TGS, but I have no idea what it could be. And, for the merch, I don't really care since I'm not in South Korea nor do I buy game merch anyway.

Nah, what I posted is essentially what's been going on as of late. Jona did a hella stupid cake where she wasted a fuckton of ink printing out Rolands drawn by her orbiters and stuck it onto a pathetic looking tiramisu in an ill-fitting plate, all to celebrate Roland's birthday. And don't forget she has the Roland cutout too.

That. That is peak fandom autism.

JP-faker Chocorufuru is always having tantrums over random shit over in Hub I think? She tried to get some people banned for being associated with Igugf, not because they associated with Igugf, but because they committed the cardinal sin of ignoring her bullshit. She just tacked on the association as a "gotcha!" to try and bait the mods into taking action.

Maxwell I've lost track of these days mainly because I want to believe that unlike Jona, she's actually focusing on her college stuff, but the toyhou.se stuff I saw just crushes my optimism lol.

The rest of the crazies I keep tabs on aren't as relevant as those above fandom-wise or are just generic "spoiled by the internet" crazy. Like the weird Yan knockoff collectors and "system" stuff.

The important stuff they introduce: Auto-chain, you can choose between maximizing damage or clashing better with the enemies; The option to disable the descriptions of attacks, why?; attack show their effectiveness upon choosing them, that's pretty helpful; a different way to target dice, now you can do it in reverse; and the more you know about an Abno the more buffs you get when fighting it.

EN is up. I think they did a preview for Meursault's voice too but I've kinda lost interest at this point. Open Beta or some sort of playable demo is the only thing I'm looking forward to.

We'll finally learn what his power is next chapter (or the one after that, lol). Also, the thought that maybe all of the children he took care of where orphaned by him is making me more interested again in the story, just so I can know what Vergil's motivations are.
References aside, we did get an interesting possibility out of Faust's video. Normally, they talk to the manager, but Faust directly named Dante as the person she's talking to. It could mean we're playing the clock-face man himself, which would be unironic kino

Leviathan, the comic, has been cancelled. The Director claims it was due to him and the team overfocusing on Limbus, but a part of me wonders if it's also because they gave up trying to handle the translation teams.

In its place, they'll be doing a webnovel version with in-house illustrations similar to The Distortion Detective. It's also intended to be a biweekly release, but well...

Poor Jihoon, man just wants to make stuff (and money, but who doesn't?), yet he has to deal with Watson's lazyness and all kind of other problems. I'm a bit sad, I liked the comic style. On the other hand, this may mean that we'll get more happening in each chapter.

Ch 12 has been released in both English and Japanese.
We get to see a part of Vergil's character and power, particurlarly at the end of this chapter, where he used a Light-based attack.
Also, CKC's thesaurus is in full force now, it's fucking stupid.

CKC just... released this.

Good morrow and good eventide, fans and acquaintances of the Project Moon fandom! Watson writing here.
We're planning one last revision to Library of Ruina's text, hopefully to be patched in a month or two.

This final revision will mainly be to fix some text that wasn't updated when the game was patched, i.e. code that was changed or data IDs that were adjusted.

However, we'd also like to try and revise a few of the errors in the game's text as well.
This is where this Google Form comes in: We don't have enough time to comb through the entire text of Library of Ruina again on top of our own work (Leviathan just a week away!), so we'd like to ask for your help.

Thus, we're asking for the community's input on what texts we should examine.
*Please keep in mind that, for various reasons, we may not act on every report.

Submit all errors one at a time, as it makes it easier to track and confirm what has been fixed and what hasn't yet. If possible, please make sure that the error being reported isn't already listed here: [spreadsheet link]

tldr: They want to release a patch to "fix" the translations in LOR, but they're asking the fandom to do their job (aka spellchecking) for them because they're sooooo busy with Leviathan. You can see what has been reported so far here. (Not sure if archival is required since it's pretty fresh?)

There's only three reports as of the time I'm writing this:
-First one is about accented letters not glowing in the Abnormality pages.
-Second one is about Vapour using the British English spelling (the extra 'u') despite no other usage of British English anywhere. Should have been caught by CKC themselves since consistency is something they should be upholding.
-Third one is uh.

Hey guys how about finishing the stupid invitation maker? It's still unfinished and would have a bigger impact on the game's lifespan compared to whatever the hell this "fix" would do.

Ch 13 has been released today:
https://projectmoon.postype.com/post/12716512
Watson claimed that it took him so long to release this chapter because he spent "4 hours researching Chinese literature to translate two 4 character idioms".
Considering the chapter itself, it gives me the feeling they spend barely any time actually translating, the rest of the chapter was very straightforward meaning-wise. It wouldn't shock me if they spend only 2 hours a day on Leviathan.

I have absolutely no idea what the idioms were supposed to be. Just like you said, the chapter was very simple.

While I can't speak for translating Korean into English, if it's a Chinese-tied idiom they're pretty straightforward to convert to English. You don't need its entire backstory to get the point across, especially if you decide (like what CKC often does, and what quite a few CN -> EN games suffer from) to just remove any sort of flair and boil it down into its bare essentials. I tried reading the Korean chapter with Google Translate and - barring grammatical errors or weird handlings of Korean names - it was pretty much the same.

Eh, it's just the norm at this point. It's no secret that CKC is busy playing the vidya instead of working.

It's been a long time since this thread's last update. Here's a quick summary of the news:
  • All character intros have been released (they can be seen on YouTube).
  • PM revealed their stand and panel at the Tokyo Game Show.
  • Leviathan reached Ch. 17.
  • CKC's server has gone cold (or so it seems).
  • We now have to wait three weeks for every chapter translation of Leviathan, a new record!
The Ring's Corridor is a massive space with doors that can lead a traveler wherever than desire, as long as they can navigate it.
The Ring has been experimenting with refraction technology, previously studied by Yi Sang, and this is the base for Limbus' Identity system.
The sin creatures are what happens when one loses themselves while refracted. The orphanage's children became cocoons from where the sins were born.
Garnet survived for a longer time than them, and his Identities were of very powerful Fixers, including Roland. Still lost though, lmao. He became a cocoon too (and had a 'I wish I could turn back time' monologue within it, hmm...).
The Maestro guy got ultra-refracted and became a polka-dot scalie that can see, and show, parallel timelines.
Vergilius is currently losing as he is being bombarded by other timelines. At the end, he hears Carmen's voice. But, she implies this isn't the first time.
There are more things that happened, but you can read all of them.
Right now, we can only wait for the next upload (which was delayed to 09/23) and the Tokyo Game Show (09/25, but the panel is on the 27th).
