There's a lot of old timey love stories that don't sound so romantic these days. Our concept of romance and relationships has changed drastically in even just the past 50 years. The story of how my grandparents, married over 50 years, met and got married at 15 and 17 was always told in my family as a romantic love story, but when you get down to it, my grandpa (15) was basically a stalker. I dunno, just doesn't seem fair to judge relationships from the 30s with relationships of today.
That said, to get back on topic, Kevin's real reason for hating The Queen is prob just basic hatred of powerful women who wouldn't validate his batshit belief system.

What "borders" did he experience in the UK other than the ones between it and the United States? Was this an excuse he was given for why they couldn't just pop over to the continent or something? Maybe he thought Ireland was part of it and wanted to go there?

BLFC is requiring attendees to not only be vaxxed, but BOOSTED. They are insisting that this policy will be strictly enforced and they will call the cops on you.
Kevin probably isn't boosted, and after the amount of bad publicity they've gotten the con probably doesn't want them back as a "charity".

For the conventions high enough on their horses to use governmental resources, there are a plethora of options to verify and report your attendee's jab status via the lot number. Calling the number listed on the vaccine card, using a governmental app, or just forcing anyone with a physical card use digital verification because the physical card is "suspect".
There's a few big cons doing this that I have in mind when I say this: it's weird as fuck to require a booster for your 2k+ attendees.
Especially when the fucking venue itself has no Coof rules. You want everyone boosted? Either the con is a glow-op or you are not really going to check cards that hard.
