I sorta like it, instrumentals are good and the art is top tier but geez is Kiara's chicken voice not working it here. Release your limiters girl please.

And her pronunciation on certain words really is off-putting, reminds me why I couldn't really enjoy Moona's High Tide as much.
Agreed. The vocals are not doing this song any favors. Also not the biggest fan of the video itself. There's multiple styles going on at once that are all either referencing or are from that time period and while they're similar, they don't mesh well. I honestly was expecting a song that 'went harder' given the synthwave styilization of the title, but it's just too mellow for that. Overall too many styles it was trying to do in 80's motif at the same time in all categories. Oh well, I guess Sparks still exists so she's got one good original.

Local Nijisanji guru! Did you ever find out who she was prior? I don't understand how she became extremely popular. What's the appeal that got JP viewers hooked? Was showing how insides the key to getting flocking fans? Will Nina come home one day not drunk? Will Selen go a full stream without laughing?!
From what I'm seeing, paired with a lack of an accelerated JP wave, lack of hololive streamings (thus a good chance to pull people out of "hiatus") and basically stagnation as many JP only follow a few of the EN girls, she's basically a bone fide savior lol. So even if people were sticking around for the "It's Tazumi with a voice changer!" reveal, she's not going anywhere soon. She may not maintain mito levels of retention after awhile but if they play it smart (she definitely does) the JP viewerbase has a new Liver to fall back on even if its an hr a day, especially with the current industry lull. I think the biggest appeal is because she came out the gate flying which is very in character for a glorified chunni, but she has a solid background in something entertainment related.

Ah yes it was 80s synth, I called it. I knew that logo looked really familiar and not surprisingly the MV was done by Astrophysics who I've seen some other stuff from before. They have a cool 80s synth version of Komm Susser Tod which works disturbingly well too (if you know the context of the song).

As for Kiara's song, I agree the lyrics/singing is very clunky. Pronunciation, tempo, and just generally it sounds off. Not sure how much is on being ESL versus bad writing but it doesn't work. The way the sentences are broken up is unnatural and makes it sound a bit stilted. It's a similar issue I get with anime OP/ED that are translated to english. They try to shoehorn the english lyrics into something written for japanese and it just doesn't work (similar to anime dubs in general too unless done really well and carefully). Makes me wonder if she originally made the lyrics in JP or german and then translated them for her song.

Speaking of birthday, I remember coming across Gura's real birthday somewhere in this thread, and it's only like a few days different from her "fake" birthday, makes it more convenient for her and also potentially leads to a more emotional celebration from her and her friends.

This person is credited with the lyrics:

They seem to mostly do rap music, so I am not sure how they ended up doing the lyrics for this song, but I think I agree they are what screws the song up for me. It may have worked better at a lower octave, but who knows.

Well that took me 2 seconds to find out why. I had a feeling I had seen that name before somewhere.

Edit for clarification and embed: Kiara's worked with her in the past and they're friends.

The thumbnail.
How fitting.

Mate to mint an NFT, say a picture, you need like 50 to 150 kWh, and it takes around 5 minutes (sources vary i used 2 first links of google), now say the game has textures, models or sprites, music, levels and the code itself. Unless your game can fit on a nes cartridge, or you are making it for PICO-8 or some shit, you are going to waste from half to full day and shitton of power to just get it on blockchain, and thats because the size here actually matters. The issue also rises when you introduce Daves cool "SAVE/CHARACTER SHEET SHARING" where the PLAYER will need to mint his own nft of his save to share it with someone else, which costs somewhere from 50-100$ dollars.

I think its retarded.
This isn't the thread for it so I won't go much deeper, but while the time aspect might be true depending on which blockchain you use, the energy expenditure part is a mischaracterization of what's actually happening behind the scenes. Doing an NFT transaction is like getting on a bus; the bus may expend a marginal bit more gasoline to carry your weight, but it was going to be driving down the road regardless of whether you got on.

I haven't watched the Pippa stream yet, but I need to know, does she press Blizzard on the sexual harassment stuff? Please tell me she asked about the stolen breast milk.
She does, though his answer to both was basically "that kinda stuff wasn't happening while I was there."

Idk but I wasn't actively looking for links.
It's really impressive what Ui organized for being an indie vtuber. I don't want to know how much this costs for one single person.

It was really only a sneak peak of 15 minutes/ 2 songs.
Since she has contacts in Hololive, she probably worked with them to set it up. Yes, she's technically an indie but she has access to all of the connections one of the biggest corpos has.

Lumi doing Xcom2 first playthrough. No-DLC.

She and Tamaki definitely have the biggest advantage in the JP VTubing world as an indie VTuber. Their name commands respect, can call up their connections in Niji and Holo for any of their needs, and can basically do whatever she wants with either companies.

It's not a 'pathological need' it's the predominant function of a KiwiFarms thread to know what's going on.

Some people aren't actively watching the pages go by, they wake up to nine pages of people live-reacting to Pippa and rightfully assume something worthy of discussion has occurred. The last two times I woke up to so many pages it was the NijiEN Discord leak and Rushia termination.

What are you talking about?

I hate to have to agree with Scuttle but here we are. This thread has taken off quite a bit and it is hard enough to keep up with it even, without the 5 page play-by-play of pippa streams. If you are going to do that, maybe just make one post and edit your reactions in instead, that might keep the post count down a bit. In the end I did just skim and skip by most of it, but would be nice to not need to go that far.

Keeki's normal voice is so much more pleasant than the Kiara chicken voice/screech. Maybe we'll get lucky and she'll have throat problems and be forced to stop doing it like Suisei and others did and just go to her regular voice for streaming. I might actually watch occasionally if that happened!

Kiara's new song in ~15 minutes:
Oh, hey, it's Astrophysics. Dude has done a bunch of synthwave covers of songs, some using original vocals and some using Hatsune Miku. I haven't heard his original stuff before but if this is any indication of it, he seems competent. Definitely check out his channel for more if you like what you heard.

Agreed. Would love to hear this again but with her voice in her chest instead of her nose.
