This is why he has to tell people that there's 'no fall back plan'. Lots of people have taken what they've leaned through the process of making videos and used that knowledge to move onto something else that's more stable than depending on fluctuating ad revenue and donations. He's had 13 years to learn something, ANYthing, that he could use to transition out of the volatility of what he does now, but he's been so lazy from the very beginning that he hasn't learned a fucking thing in the last 13 years except how to record, chop up the video, upload, and beg. Shit,

Hilariously, I'll bet that detractors like Tevin and others who have done videos about him, TIHYDP's, etc., have learned more fundamental skills and understanding of tech through making those videos than his dumb ass has.

A lot of content creators stay that way for a very long time and even newer ones who can afford to do so would rather hire an editor than do any of the heavy lifting themselves, and prefer to remain specialized in whatever it is they provide. They might pick up on a few things but they don't know everything about how Premiere or After Effects work, for example.
This is giving Phil the benefit of the doubt here. He does not learn anything about what he does to any extent with regards to his chosen form of content creation. I know fuckall about how to make an overlay but I know how to properly integrate sources and effects into OBS and I've only been streaming for 18 months. He literally just presses "go live" and "record." I've pointed out before that it's incredibly obvious he has no idea how hotkeys work; this is very evident if you have a keen ear on his streams, you can hear him mouse clicking everything.

He averages around 650k to 700k a month in views, so that's 1.5 to 2k a month at a normal CPM (this includes his new videos, so just his backlog would obviously be less)

Well uh... wow.
Just looking at the past month he seems to have gotten about 282K views on new content, so maybe a bit under a half of his monthly take. (This does include one pig-out drama video that got 44K on its own) There really is nobody watching the 13 Year Legacy. I was assuming the bulk of his views were people accidentally clicking on his videos on old PS3 games, but not even that.

So really maybe only $500-750 of his monthly take is passive income. There is no plan B.

Not sure if it's a troll or a legit fan who also hates Derich but they got a point. Pretty much everyone I watch has a Derich in their chat. Hell, one of my friends has a Derich and their name is Derrick. Phil aside, at least SOME of his dents are entertaining to read when looking at his shitshow of a chatbox.
