Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Mamma Max has uploaded a new video, it seems to be a followup to his IMVU video, I don't know, I haven't watched it yet.
Now that I finished both Hotline Miami games, his whole LARP thing confuses me. The 50 blessings agents (masked guys) aren't vigilantes valiantly assassinating pedophiles, they're veterans blackmailed into slaughtering the Russian mafia. Even the "actual" vigilantes in the sequel were just attention whores who didn't know what happened behind the scenes and mostly just shot up small time thugs.

5s-Skipped thorough it. Maxxie put effort into it, but please. The intro was too fucking long and overstayed it's welcome. 2 minutes of his Hotline Miami-LARP would've been enough and given the resources those would've been editied way better. Is the YT 10-minute rule still in effect? It does sure seem like it. Also being concise, short to the point and neutral is the best path to follow. Putting pedos against the wall (like a special person talked about in this thread already) is a good thing. But please, don't be a complete sperg about it.
The 10 minute thing has been gone for at least a year but more like two, iirc.
Wasn't his fanbase like 5 years old during HLM's lifespan? It just occured to me that by his own admission his watchers are an average of 15 years old and it came out in 2012. More than a few of them probably haven't got a clue what he's referencing without being told.

Not sure if he's been brought up before but for anyone who enjoys cryptozoology I've been watching a channel called TREY the Explainer recently. He has a lot of videos on biology and theology,

My favorite part is his videos debunking common top 5 horror items like Mothman and sea serpents
Sadly, he hasn't uploaded in a while. But this series is good and it turns out most of it is partially decomposed dead animals.

If you think Needlemouse is bad, wait until you hear about the many Sonic.exe OCs people have been cooking up recently.

Here a picture that showcases most of them courtesy of @Red flaming panda:

And the worst part is that's not all of them to my knowledge.
There's an unsolvable problem wherein every fanbase for a story completely overdoes it with spin-offs and tributes and lore/wiki entry autism. The Mighty Morphin' Sonic Exe Army is one example that reminds me of another...

The Backrooms, another terribly written (but mercifully short) pasta that had an air of mystery to it for a while. It didn't try to overexplain anything and let its picture do most of the talking (tapping into a fear of liminal spaces).

...But then someone decided that somehow a pasta that uses the term "noclip" still wasn't enough of a video game for them and created more "levels" complete with health powerups in the form of almond waters.

Eventually, the story was given a wiki, that seems to want to completely defang the original by turning the concise story into a tabletop RPG complete with "here's the monsters of level 82918, here's where you can find almond water to replenish your HP, and here are noclip points to access other rooms reliably."

No story of moderate success will ever be allowed to simply succeed with some dignity anymore. Autistic trannies will find your content, and they will expand it into a multiverse.

Yeah, I've noticed that. You can't just have a spooky story. Wiki Troons need to "fix" it so there is a way to beat the scary part. You wouldn't want a scary story to be scary now would you. It's like they need to control things.

God, my thoughts exactly. The original Backrooms pasta was silly but I thought the idea was kind of cool. Just like slender man before it, a bunch of dorks had to bludgeon it to death.

The cherry on top is the authors, now named and clout-seeking, are also on Twitter saying "Btw s0nik is gender fluid FRFR no cap y'all #TransRihtsAreHumanRights" so there isn't even the opportunity to suspend any disbelief. The "creepy hack reported by a nameless anon" type of story that gained such fame did so PRECISELY because the story, its imagery, and its mystery were at the forefront.

Now it's some mulatto zoomer who's about to start removing parts of themselves.

It really is frustrating how dumbells can't seem to grasp the concept of brevity. One of the major cornerstones of horror is the unknown and expanding upon ideas is usually the death of them.

I'd argue serialization of horror and ARGs are a major factor in ruining modern internet horror, but also the idea of large multiconnected series like SCP is equally guilty of creating far too convoluted stories to retain the fear-factor.

Exactly. I think it's part of the reason that The Lovecraft mythos is still popular today. They were intended to be unfathomable by humans. We want to know so much about them while they couldn't give two shits about us.

I also think that this is why the idea of SCPs was so appealing in the beginning of the project. You had these otherworldly beings that humanity didn't understand. Some, like the Eye-pods or 999, were cute, friendly, and helpful. Some, like 053 or 919, had sad backstories and/or abilities. And some, like 682 or 015, were murderous and/or terrifying. What they had in common was that no one knew where they came from or how they were created. The various "redactions" from documentation about them added to the mystery and intrigue. The newer batches of SCPs just seem to be kids trying to make something scary without putting any effort into also making them interesting.

SCP in general has been fucked into the ground from what I've seen. With the whole thing pretty much being usurped by the Tumblr crowd who didn't really care for the lore of SCP stuff at all and only made things worse by changing the Sex Doorknob SCP because something something sexual assault, to making an SCP that likes Homestuck and runs a Tumblr blog. Whole thing is a clusterfuck and I feel bad for the people who just liked the spooky stores on the internet thing only for it to be ruined by these degenerates and tactical roleplayers that care about nothing but the Mobile Task Forces and Chaos Insurgency shit.

The one thing that ruins the whole mystery aspect of SCP for me is the overexplanation that people try to give to certain aspects to the actual organization, like with the 05 Council, which is covered by Wendigoon in this video.
Timestamped to the part where he talks about the 05 Council.

creepypasta and SCP were best when it was anons on an image board telling internet campfire stories.

I liked the concept of it. There is something unnerving about the Backrooms, not so much the denizens that supposedly dwell there but just the concept of those fluorescent lit desolate rooms was really great in its original form.

yeah, everything online is turned into fandom, its a disease. The Nobody meme also seems to be one of those too.

liminal spaces can be pretty cool, i like pictures with that feel, the concept didn't need anything added to it, i don't get adding context and a narrative to something that is good precisely because it avoids that.

This guy made a pretty decent video about it

This might be an unpopular opinion, but: people being thrown into jail for owning small amounts of marijuana, speeding or being drunk in public will forever blow my mind.
I understand Speeding. Driving over the speed limit is dangerous and could cause some serious damage if the driver doesn't know what they're doing.

Granted I believe the more mild cases should be let off with a warning (assuming they don't already), but otherwise that's understandable.

I sperged enough about SCP in its own thread so I won't parrot myself too much but since it's been mentioned, it genuinely pisses me off what became of it. Every fucking entry now is another philosopher wannabe trying to one up the previous entries with their #deep novella. Using pretentious language, endless metaphors for IRL events and of course, representation and diversity. Nothing is more painful than reading the story of an author who thinks they're a lot smarter than they really are. Series 7 is an absolute abomination.
