Neglecting your kids and creating single mothers is actually based and trad. Letting a woman raise your kids alone will not make them grow up with daddy issues at all. That's what I don't get neither of them are trad, Ralph is legitimately a bum. He's a panhandler on the internet. Instead of a cardboard sign, he has a stream overlay. Didn't they just take a "vacation" to NYC right before Ralph left too? They went to that baseball game. I think Meigh might have just stayed in Rochester then and Ralph went back home without her and then shortly after went to Lisbon. Meigh has probably been at her dad's house this entire time to get some help with the baby since Ralph isn't willing to help at all.

This would also explain why her goodbye to Ralph was over text instead of in person, if the texts are legit, which I kind of doubt since there are no timestamps or dates.

Ralph sounds just like old Ronnie. He surely was of the mind that it was Sandra’s job to do all the child rearing. As a result the only thing Ralph knows about how people are supposed to behave is from fictional scripted cable TV series he constantly tries to use for guidance because his dad couldn’t be bothered.

Also, fictional men like Don Draper worked 60 hours a week at offices, owned homes and were married to their mother of their children. Ralph has two bastards, spends what little money he has on sub-prime trucks, trips and ghetto rental houses because he’s not Don Draper just common white trash.

Also, in what way is Ralph really "right wing"? He doesn't believe in 'free speech', he doesn't seem to give a shit about "family values" or any of that crap, I guess he is pro-gun probably, so there's that. And maybe he wants to pay less in taxes. That makes him a representative of right-wing America?

Ralph isn't intelligent enough to be ascribed a political identity, just like Fuentes. Engaging in politics fundamentally requires that you are willing and able to see beyond yourself in favour of your in-group and maintain vigilant awareness of your out-group. That requires unselfish, abstract thought with a vision for the future, and that dreaded term, optics.

Being unable to do any of these things, Ralph is apolitical (as evidence by voting for Obama in the past). He claims the symbology of the right wing, but even in a world where the right was ascendant, he wouldn't be able to meaningfully participate due to his low IQ and general abrasiveness. Everything he believes is ultimately defined by how it relates to him, and though this is how all of us operate to a degree, for Ralph there can be no abstraction of his principles so that they apply to other people. Cops are based if they help him, pigs if they don't. He could not begin to conceive, for instance, that other people have different interactions with them, or that cops are people themselves (Exhibit B: swinging at the cop). Their value is solely their ability to ARREST HEEEM
