This is tough to explain so bear with me, but everyone is aware that Salome isn't an Ojou-sama.

She speaks like someone from Kansai, and her sense of humour is very crude and blunt. She super-imposes ladylike speech over otherwise unladylike behaviour and dialect and that's kind of the whole joke. Salome is someone trying to be regal and not doing a very good job at it. This mode has been her constant the whole time.

And while I do think that somewhat gets lost in translation (I think Oboretai has done a stellar job with his clips because he makes the speech formal even when she's talking about vomit and stomach cancer), I don't think it's beyond the scope of Western fans' tastes. She'll need a lot more to crack the west, though.

You say that it can't be predicted how people will react but......... why?
Does the fact that the vast vast like, incredibly overwhelming majority of vtubers don't stay entirely "in character" and no one minds not represent a precedent that you can base predictions off of?
Assuming things will fall in line with the general norm is a pretty safe prediction, and t he general norm is that people aren't that autistic about keyfabe.

eh the sections of calli's fanbase that would sperg out over that is definitely the minority. but putting that aside, It's a pretty bad comparison to try and compare Vox being messaged by a member of his company to someone else being voice called by someone outside of their company.

It's autistic to expect people to not talk to people outside the company, but it's even more autistic to expect them to not speak to their direct coworkers.

Was it ill advised on Vox's part when he's sort of been courting the crazy fanbase? probably.

I don't think it's something that you can just replicate, like gura, it's lightning in a bottle and you will be lucky if you catch it twice.
I'm waiting for EN gen 3 sometime in the next few months, hopefully it goes better this time and does for EN what it did for JP back in the day, we definitely need some new blood in here.

Reimu especially is absolutely beautiful IRL. If she was interested in Vox there wouldn't be a single fucking thing the Kindred could do to stop her.
