The idea of lurking is non-existent. Social media sites like twitter and reddit encourage people to give their opinion about literally anything and everything, no matter how pointless and regurgitate the opinion is. They feel their opinion MUST be heard about anything and everything and if they have the "right" opinion they get rewarded with updoots and likes. Registration should limit your posts to 1 a day or something for the first 3 months at best.
