if all i do is stay stuck on the create a sim and build mode stuff a majority of the time, then i wont have time to complain about the game being shit whilst playing it

heavily modding the game works for me, plus I spend more time creating sims then actually playing, and building houses.
also the new pronouns system gives new life to the dialog boxes. granted I am misusing the hell out of it, but hey give me a toy and I see how far I can go with it, renaming all the troon pronouns as faggot or tim or tif really makes the game feel more real especially when you change out the traits to match. wow ea the game is broke as all hell but hey I get to see troons live out their miserable existence then 41 percent in real time on the game progress.I got mortimer to have a midlife crisis and troon out while bella is pregnant.

also there is rumors that ea maybe merging with another company soon I hope for the love of god its apple because apple has actual quality standards, and they also have in an house system of scanning their devices for csam, even the animated shit, so it might end the pedo and degenerate modders. disney would be the worst case scenario because while they may remove the pronoun system, and have some quality assurance, I don't want to pay mickey out the ass for subpar disney themed packs and microtransactions out the ass, I might pay for a kingdom hearts pack with a simlish version of simple and clean by utada hiraku for the nostagia feelz alone, but that would be the extent of me paying disney for anything.

You answered your own question somewhat: Mods. Lots of them.

Even the Stockholm'd Sims gurus that talk about how the series is going downhill and yet still legally purchase + review most of what EA squeezes out for the game likely have a few mods to add spice and variety to the gameplay, because the vanilla/official gameplay is a complete drag. Nothing bad can happen to your Sims ever (remember when the Sims 2 and 3 gave you choices throughout a Sim's workday that'd shape their performance or mood, and the thing where not paying attention to children would have consequences once they started growing?), you can't have conflict or dysfunctional families/households, the neighborhoods have nothing going on and no weird personalities to find out and interact with, and the emotion system is retarded and unfun. It doesn't actually add depth or anything good to the game besides canonizing the fact that sims can angrily take a shit.

I'm gonna commit a forum discussion sin and use a food analogy. Adding mods to The Sims 1 and 2 is basically like putting toppings on a finished, well decorated cake. The Sims 3 is also a cake, except it's got too much fluff in certain areas, with people other than EA having to trim the bloat and make it feel more complete; more presentable. The Sims 4 isn't even a put-together baked good, EA just threw the ingredients all in one bowl without mixing it and decided to call it a finished product, and they keep doing the same thing over and over with even less effort (20+ times, if you add the expansions and "content" packs together). It's up to everyone else that's not EA to finish it and clean up any mess they left behind.

The Sims 4 was originally intended to be a mobile game before EA changed course, so they basically had the fanbase unofficially add content and finish their games for them while they sat back and collected cash from uneducated casuals and clueless people that don't know how easy it is to pirate The Sims. The Sims 2 might have its more limited features and glitchy quirks, and The Sims 3 might have loading/optimization issues alongside unbearable visuals that most people change/polish with mods, but I can say about as many nice things about The Sims 4. The build mode is fun to fuck around with and Create a Sim has some nice features. Anyone that can play this game and enjoy it without mods is a lunatic.

Honestly that kind of cc is off-putting. I'm not against people making scars or skin blemishes for sims, those and moles and freckles are popular because they add something the game is lacking, which is "uniqueness", and in some way, immersion.
There's even cc of body hair for male sims. And vitiligo, which is cool (I guess) but bitches just love vitiligo and I don't know why. Those are the details that make the game more fun imo.
But top surgery scars or self-harm scars? It's a bit fucked up.
Unless you want to have an emo sim so you put scars on his wrists because you have a twisted sense of humor, but that's it.
