It's not the verdict that's gonna sink her career, it's the fact that she dragged Disney AND WB into her messy fucking personal life. Stars can get away with almost anything unless it reflects on or inconveniences the studios. Nobody is going to touch her after this.

Fair enough. It struck me as bizarre how personally invested people got in something that ostensibly does not affect them at all, but when you put it like that, it does shed some light.

And this is why court decisions are so important even when the court of public opinion is on one person's side. They will forever twist the one single count Amber won to prove she's innocent. Had she got a sweeping win this would be so much worse even if everyone knew it was a scam.

The singular claim Amber won on was explicitly the one not about Amber hoaxing or lying about abuse, but galaxybrains think that this actually means "Amber DIDN'T lie but she's not allowed to talk about it." That would only be true if they were both found equally defamatory, which would probably be a mistrial because they're actually mutually exclusive.

Also, related to the 'white people trial, black people most affected' I'd like to point out...

That hugging photo isn't from the verdict. Amber wore a black dress today. That hug came from an earlier day. Amber did not hug her lawyers, she did not shake their hand, she just left.

I'm okay with it because it puts a face on women lying about abuse for personal gain and puts a concrete example into the public consciousness.

Publicly peddling the bullshit line that "it never happens" is now untenable.

Michael Vick had legitimate talent, was contrite about what he had done and served in fucking prison for it. He paid his price and someone took a chance with him afterwards and were rewarded with some decent years in Philly. He has also had a clean record and has worked with PETA to work on his image, even though they're slimy, abusive fucks who do worse to animals than he did.

Penn State is a university, the people involved with the scandal got ousted, died, or are still in prison today.

OJ has not been in a film since the trial either. Dude lives entirely on his NFL pension from what I remember, and only because it couldn't be touched by the families of the two bitches he murdered.

Heard is a coke head who has snorted away her looks, has a toxic personality and a violent temper. If she were any good as an actor she would have a larger role in Aquaman 2 instead of a smaller one.
