Speaking of Zea, she did a stream on parasocial relationships, bringing up both the positive and negatives of such things. Much of the information is rather basic (as to be expected), but it's nice seeing a vtuber talk about such a loaded word in this way, as most either ignore it altogether or simple say "parasocial bad" without any nuance (like Finana a few days ago).

Pretty good watch, basic as you said but if you had no background with anything scholarly or psychology related you'd still understand it which is about all you could ask for. As a self admitted vtuber stan and someone who's followed the subculture for some time I'd say as long as you aren't delusional or anxious ambivalent to the point of blowing up at a vtuber for not matching your preconceived or irrational notions I'd say parasocialism isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Sure, but I highly doubt they think they can replace her with some random girls, my main issue was the idea that they can just replace people, some characters are iconic. E.g. Korone is korone, you couldn't just slap dog ears on an anime girl and get the same results.

- Surprised that Ina, Fauna and IRyS beat Calli and Kiara this month. Ina had her birthday, but I'm not sure what major events Fauna and IRyS had other than their original song releases. Maybe I wasn't paying attention.
- Also surprised that Kaela is slightly ahead of Zeta after the minor story here about Zeta harpooning a Korean whale, though I think that happened in April. I suppose Kaela's audience (whatever their demographics) like their penguin mommy.

I thought it was a bit for longer than I should have.

The duck is really committed to her English lessons. She and Lui could do an English only talk stream for practice.

I've rambled about Subaru's progress before, but this reminds me of something I didn't elaborate on, which you can see when comparing her to someone who debuted with some capacity to speak English. Lui is generally happy to practice, but you can tell the ability is not new to her the way it seems to be for Subaru. Which is why I think Subaru is an example of a corpo who learnt a language to a conversational level after debut.

I'd watch that talk stream. If not talk, Nobody Explodes or A Way Out would be funny.

I'd say parasocialism isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'm fairly parasocial myself with some streamers, the only time, in my opinion, that parasocialism becomes a real issue is when you have other things wrong with your mental state that compound the perceived relationship from something "fun, but clearly fake and one sided" to anything more than that.
I have a fairly similar mindset on shippers, I can look at a pair of people and think they would go well together, and in some peoples eyes, that makes me a "cringy shipper". But in my eyes shipping only ever becomes a problem once it becomes external to the shipper themselves. I don't care what anyone thinks, as long as they stay within the boundaries set by the talent, or if they are clearly past those boundaries, but keep them to themselves.
