Still regarding Kawaii, one line I thought was interesting from the official announcement:
"Leaking false information and fake news, including slander against the company, to the specific group of fans through SNS."
Reina confirmed this was true. But a specific group of fans? Is this indirectly confirming she had one of those private oil-baron-only discords?
Either way, I've never had a good impression of Neena and none of this really surprises me.
Well I had woken up to a work meeting, and got out of it to see Reina just starting her stream, but I should have watched Namiji's before commenting, it's much more informative.
I've gone back and watched it now. Poor Reina was crying, nerve-wracked, and trying to keep everyone neutral... but Nami is very clinical, precise, deliberate in her wording. I would even say she clinically shredded Neena in her stream.
The main breach of contract is that Neena wanted to leave right away, but agreed to continue streaming with Kawaii until August, but then she intentionally went broke exclusivity to debut on a new channel on (roughly) her originally intended schedule.
"We are only allowed to interact with fans publicly. She took a group of her biggest fans, decided to tell them where she was going before graduation, and attempted to usher them over there to follow her."
So that explains the "specific group of fans" part of the announcement (she also clarified later that Neena was shittalking the company to them).
"She did not tell us, by the way. She told us the same reason that she told all of you. She did not tell us, we found out about it, it was a betrayal to all of us."
"Unfortunately, she did not respect the company or the fans enough to abide by the contract until her time was up to provide you guys a graduation stream, and I'm sorry for that."
Lol, get fucked Neena.
There's a lot of information in this short 20 minutes tbh. I'm always interested in glimpses at what the contracts look like.
According to Nami, Kawaii's contract requires minimum 4 streams per week, 2 hours per stream. Pretty reasonable.
Contract terms are for 1 year, management was willing to let her out at 7 months (she wanted out at closer to 5 months, lying about the reason, then agreed to 7 months but went behind their back).
On the subject of IRyS / Iroha 3D
Actually the first thing I'm wondering is, why just Iroha announced? Wouldn't they normally announce a whole gen at once? Not that it matters, we can assume the rest will be following shortly.
Honestly, I've started to become a huge fan of IRyS lately, she's just so goddamn entertaining (both intentionally and unintentionally sometimes), no matter what she's doing. Should really get around to joining her membership.
And I can't really see any valid reason why she'd be delayed on getting 3D unless it really is something big like a whole character redesign. It must be very frustrating for her not to have any new outfits or a 3D after all this time, and not be getting the support she should be.
...But that being said, my feelings towards Iroha's announcement are only of excitement. I'm looking forward to seeing her 3D and the rest of Gen 6's, especially Lui and Chloe. Whatever's holding back IRyS's 3D has nothing to do with HoloX, so basically: while releasing HoloX 3D first isn't "fair" to IRyS, holding back HoloX 3D for IRyS's sake wouldn't be "fair" to HoloX either.
Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not saying Cover didn't fuck up. They dropped the ball
hard with IRyS. I just don't think that has anything to do with HoloX.
