General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

IRyS yes. ID2 and Council no. Japan only opens this month and their predecessors had to make compromises just to get what they got.

A Tokyo-based V-Singer that cannot take the stage being overlooked is really difficult to take in stride. It's literally the purpose her position was opened. V-Singers are meant for the music production and big performances.

We're going dry.
Funny enough I made some popcorn before I read this, would you like some friend? Also, it's okay, I go dry too.

If there's ever an example of Cover bias in favor of JP talents, it's this 3D announcement. I could understand skipping Council - five overseas girls is a lot of work and priorities should be made - but ID 2 and IRyS? IRyS especially given she's been inside the JP 3d studios multiple times now and has enough songs for concert events. Hiding behind the "Redjuice is busy" meme isn't going to fly for much longer. Reddit Holofans are retarded, but their patience isn't unlimited. If there isn't an announcement by her anniversary, then even that circlejerk is going to riot.
it's even more retarded when you consider that a 3d version has fuck all to do with redjuice in the first place, I highly doubt pochi and all the other artists are also solely in charge of creating the 3d version, never mind those are 2 different fucking skillsets and responsibilities. cover could've hired some koreans/vietkongs like they do for anime to do dozens of different 3d versions by now with redjuice's original design. fuck some gachikoi weeb neet could probably do it in a week one handed...

the only thing that would remotely apply is that the design is a bitch to do in 3d (big doubt) so cover wants redjuice do changes first which then get adapted into 3d. but that also ignores that for example azki got 3 completely different styles alone, and half the regular idol outfits already have a different hairstyle as well.

I dunno man, if it's indeed an issue with her design why not... you know, ask for another one before comitting to it?

Look at the whole variety, from Debi to Korone to Watame to Coco, Gura, Reimu, the fairy with giant tits and Pikamee's three-in-one, what the fuck possessed Cover's EN branch to see Irys and pick whatever first draft entered the mail?! Or rather looking twice, Irys must have had other designs before her current one, no one thought to review one of the simpler ones?
I don't want to contradict completely but you can't blame Cover accepting the first thing they get send in from the artists. I want to remind you that they rejected Kakage's and Parley's first drafts after they published them officially. Although they never said why they were rejected. In the end they designed Lui and Chloe.

r/Holo sperging used to be a fun read but it's really just an endless ant death spiral of people pretending they're really smart and mature and then proceeding to spend hours defending the cult of personality.

HoloX don't deserve backlash because of the executive decisions of people above them, but that doesn't automatically make feelings invalid, and it's the zealous suppression of negativity in the Holo fandom that causes things to boil over intermittently. People want to discuss, but discussion there is a luxury.

As such, I hereby wish only to present a funee clip before watching to see if anything pops off.

Japan is xenophobic, it's their culture.

ID2 and Council no
I don't really know about it, but aren't all of the ID girls lives in the same city?

They can just rent a studio for them, I mean ffs you got the daughter of the CEO of a media conglomerate.

Wait isn't it because there are no one that can fit the theming of the character?

I see an apology post/video brewing on the horizon there from Hololive. It really feels bad now that their debut have this massive shadow, even though it should be a joyous occasion.

Still regarding Kawaii, one line I thought was interesting from the official announcement:
"Leaking false information and fake news, including slander against the company, to the specific group of fans through SNS."

Reina confirmed this was true. But a specific group of fans? Is this indirectly confirming she had one of those private oil-baron-only discords?

Either way, I've never had a good impression of Neena and none of this really surprises me.
Well I had woken up to a work meeting, and got out of it to see Reina just starting her stream, but I should have watched Namiji's before commenting, it's much more informative.
I've gone back and watched it now. Poor Reina was crying, nerve-wracked, and trying to keep everyone neutral... but Nami is very clinical, precise, deliberate in her wording. I would even say she clinically shredded Neena in her stream.

The main breach of contract is that Neena wanted to leave right away, but agreed to continue streaming with Kawaii until August, but then she intentionally went broke exclusivity to debut on a new channel on (roughly) her originally intended schedule.

"We are only allowed to interact with fans publicly. She took a group of her biggest fans, decided to tell them where she was going before graduation, and attempted to usher them over there to follow her."
So that explains the "specific group of fans" part of the announcement (she also clarified later that Neena was shittalking the company to them).

"She did not tell us, by the way. She told us the same reason that she told all of you. She did not tell us, we found out about it, it was a betrayal to all of us."
"Unfortunately, she did not respect the company or the fans enough to abide by the contract until her time was up to provide you guys a graduation stream, and I'm sorry for that."
Lol, get fucked Neena.

There's a lot of information in this short 20 minutes tbh. I'm always interested in glimpses at what the contracts look like.
According to Nami, Kawaii's contract requires minimum 4 streams per week, 2 hours per stream. Pretty reasonable.
Contract terms are for 1 year, management was willing to let her out at 7 months (she wanted out at closer to 5 months, lying about the reason, then agreed to 7 months but went behind their back).

On the subject of IRyS / Iroha 3D
Actually the first thing I'm wondering is, why just Iroha announced? Wouldn't they normally announce a whole gen at once? Not that it matters, we can assume the rest will be following shortly.

Honestly, I've started to become a huge fan of IRyS lately, she's just so goddamn entertaining (both intentionally and unintentionally sometimes), no matter what she's doing. Should really get around to joining her membership.
And I can't really see any valid reason why she'd be delayed on getting 3D unless it really is something big like a whole character redesign. It must be very frustrating for her not to have any new outfits or a 3D after all this time, and not be getting the support she should be.

...But that being said, my feelings towards Iroha's announcement are only of excitement. I'm looking forward to seeing her 3D and the rest of Gen 6's, especially Lui and Chloe. Whatever's holding back IRyS's 3D has nothing to do with HoloX, so basically: while releasing HoloX 3D first isn't "fair" to IRyS, holding back HoloX 3D for IRyS's sake wouldn't be "fair" to HoloX either.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not saying Cover didn't fuck up. They dropped the ball hard with IRyS. I just don't think that has anything to do with HoloX.

Ex-KR have seen major relative inclines across the board. Min Suha, a Gen 1 who has been around since 2019, has doubled in size thanks in part to his interactions with Uki Violeta and decent English proficiency. Nari Yang has grown by about 200%. Seffyna is also enjoying the accolades for being the driving force between these musical international collabs/relays.
Even some of the Ex-ID guys like Reza are on the uptick. It seems that EN's involvement with whoever can speak basic English is helping expose them to a new demographic. Nice to see a positive outcome (for most) from the merge.

Indeed. JP and EN won't be able to send everyone into space, but positive correlations are a good start.

ex-ID in particular has some crazy talented people like Nara, Layla, Reza and Hyona.

I'm glad the two of you were able to reconcile your differences with the potential of Japan being its classic "whyto piggu go hom" self.

And yes, I do have to confirm the very sad, unfortunate news that Salome did in fact not say the funny N word. She's already got 860k subs though, so I wouldn't be surprised if she were to hit 1m by Monday.

How's my fave menhera coffee bean?

@EenGevolg I don't hate Scuttle, merely his behavior, but I'm trying to go along with the joke and shitpost with and at him. We'll see where it goes, because what greater civility is there than shitposting?

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet but a streaming platform called Showroom has popped up intended for both 2d and 3d streamers. It has its own section for vtubers and autobans ips from certain countries.
I haven't had a chance to delve into it but it seems pretty decent.

But every "clever" kid on the internet thinks they are hilarious shoehorning it into every interaction.
Are you shit talking my oshi?
