How does Giselle compare to Daniel Defense?
You can't really go wrong with either imo. You'll pay a premium for either name. The thing about a lot of ARs is that most makers are actually just assemblers. Companies that you have and haven't heard of make most parts to spec for assemblers. Ol' Bendy Bill Geisselle is a big fat bitch too. I will keep buying his match triggers tho.

I apologize if this is considered off topic but I have found a most interesting character who has some very retarded ideas about the future of defensive weapons and who is also a major supplier of crucial Law Enforcement equipment. Rick Smith of Axon, formerly TASER International.
Rick has a personal mission of making lethal firearms “Obsolete“ and so does his Company, Axon. Rick plans to do this using Super-Tasers that are 100% effective and never ever kill anybody (psst. At least 49 people died in 2018 in the US after being shocked by police with a Taser. (1) ) When does he plan to do this? according to a talk he gave in 2021, before 2030 (2).
Rick also believes that Drones equipped with tasers (a product which Axon is developing), activated with panic buttons and remotely controlled by police at designated control centers are the solutions to school shootings (3)
In 2019 Rick released a book (4) he wrote entitled The End of Killing, the PDF of which I was able to find is 58 pages long (The book makes reference to a small short story set in Raqqa, Iraq that serves as the prologue but it is missing from the pdf). I have not read most of the book because it is boring retarded bullshit but here are the highlights that I found
-Rick advocates for “Bloodless Warfare“ without explaining how that could be done
-Star Trek is mentioned 10 times.
-Repeats the super taser by 2030 line.
-Says that current issue military weapons are just upgraded muskets

This retard reminds me of that guy who believes the M113 is the best APC ever and that it should be reintroduced into service and be made to fly somehow

I am a proud member of the 1st TSG and Lt. Sparks is a visionary.

A buddy just went LEO and at marksmanship training they had them fire air tasers to show how ineffective they are. This dude seems awesome.

How does he expect that to work? Just wear a leather jacket over your Gendron approved Kevlar vest (but under your chest rig of course) and keep moving. How does he expect both probes to make good contact? If one hits your neck, the other would probably hit your helmet or vest. If one hits your arm the other probably goes into your vest or misses, same with legs. Groin-groin or groin-leg is probably your best bet, but how is a robot going to do that?

You see the impervious to fuck-ups police will operate the drones, when gunshots are detected/a panic button is pressed the drone will immediately be activated and a Police Officer who is constantly on standby (and thus staring at a screen all day doing fuck all else waiting for some schizo to shoot up a school) will take control of the drone and taze the shit out of them until they stop being so naughty .Never mind that to make this work 100% of the time you will need to perfect gunshot detection technology to the point where it can be accurate at a room level. Speaking of rooms you would also need to install these drones in every single room with doors, drones cannot exactly phase through doors and and shooters can easily close them. Never mind that the shooter could just shoot his stupid fucking drones.

Tasers suck, period. Waste of fucking space.
I don't think most people realize how situational tasers are. The target can't be too close, too far, or wearing thick clothing, both probes need to hit the target in an area of relatively dense muscle tissue (so not in the side or on loose flaps of skin), and sometimes, especially on the agitated delirium/drugged up targets that you want to stop the most, it just doesn't work anyway.

Just use pepper spray when the taser fails, duh. It's not like part of getting OC qualed in the military is getting sprayed and then fighting people.

In my experience they barely ever work because like you said, junkies have retard strength and cannot feel pain, they catch on clothing, etc. Then you get that very rare situation you tase someone with heart issues and ohhhhh boy if they fucking buy the farm on that.
Fuck tasers, let us go back to beating motherfuckers with sticks. Just the sight of a baton being pulled is often enough to make someone reconsider whatever dumbassery they were gonna get up to.

@break these cuffs

Nah instead you get OCed, you have to run, you have to fight someone to the ground, you have to cuff them while they are actively struggling, and then you have to call for back up. Fuck cross contamination.

Yeah, OC ain’t shit in either spray or gascan. It only takes the fight out of you if you weren’t very motivated to start with. Once that CS cloud starts rolling in though, it’s mask up or GTFO. Can’t fight if you can’t breathe.

one of the best policies (and there are few in LE sadly...) was doing a stint at the county jail and we had 100% green light to use batons to protect ourselves. new inmates that didn't get coached and tarded out to try and be hard tended find out the hard way that prison guards have no firearms and no TASERs, but do have a hickory baton and only 3 red zones to avoid.

every time i've had to draw a TASER it's been either by policy (someone else got spooked and drew, so now i have to draw) or in specific circumstances where getting close is a Bad Idea. also missing with a TASER is annoying as hell and it's not like the reload capsules were super easy to work with either when you have to have a situation that called for the TASER and the TASER failed, so now you have to draw your duty pistol and drop the TASER, then there's a chase, and your dropped TASER is now stolen or lost or something, et c. god help you if you drove the shop and some enterprising local decided to try and steal the car... ugh.

I asked my stream for 2 pistols, 1 shotgun, 1 rifle suggestion. From their input, this is my non-conclusive list.

AR15 M4E1 in 5.56 (Aero Precision)
Mossberg 590
Beretta 92
P365-380 P365 in 9mm

I'm not set on the pistols or the AR-15 brand. I kind of want an M1911 .45 ACP because my grandfather has one and it feels very American, but the comparisons between .45 ACP and 9mm lean towards 9mm.

What do you have in mind for your use case? You just want to fuck around? Self defense? Military larp? A case can be made for anything but the utilitarian choices would be a 9mm Glock, a reputable AR-15 brand, and a reliable 12 gauge.

All home defense and range. If I ever decide to go hunting I'll probably pick something up just for that.

I haven't really checked ammo prices recently but 9mm is one of the calibers hit hardest by panic buying and anything that isn't marked up %300 disappears instantly whenever political things happen. 10mm being a less common cartridge to begin with doesn't seem to suffer that curse with anywhere near the severity of 9mm, and it's muzzle energy is very close to .45. Consider a colt delta elite, or a glock model 40 if you don't want to spend $2000.

I personally wouldn't consider meme rounds like 10mm or .357 Sig if you're serious.

My suggestion to new shooters looking to gear up is make sensible purchases but also realize this won't necessarily be cheap. With firearms you very much get what you pay for.

9mm has a huge variety of self defense, target shooting, training etc. I would very much recommend a flavor of Glock or S&W M&P. These are very basic, very reliable and proven handguns that can get you to where you want to go and can be fully customized to your tastes once you know what you're doing.

AR wise? Nothing wrong with Aero, decent budget brand for new AR owners. I don't personally own one but I've heard very little negativity towards them. Avoid brands like PSA and Anderson. Your basic no thrills M4 style AR is enough to train on.

I'm not super well versed in shotguns so I'd just recommend what I personally go with, police surplus 870.

The paramount thing to remember though is training is more important than hardware. Ammo is expensive now regardless but good training and fundamentals is priceless. You don't need to be a Terminator but common sense and good judgement go a long way. The best hardware in the world won't mean dick if you can't use it right.

Rifle is best for the home, if you want a pistol neither neither of those are bad choices. If/when you come back to the states I wouldn't leave home without a smaller handgun to conceal carry, considering how many insane people dislike you.
