There's actually a lot of hatred towards the DSMP from Genshin stans and apparently it's not uncommon for them to get into fights with that side of twitter.
The reason they hate them is mainly because "raycist wyt man" and while that's definitely a good way to describe Dream, it's also what makes one of the reasons why the Genshin fandom is a cesspool because they are obsessed with race and will rage if you make a character slightly lighter and claim anyone with dark skin is black when.....well, Genshin impact tends to be based in China since that's where it's made.

I don't know any reason why he would need this much storage for anything, since the most likely reason, archiving VODs and video recordings, would take a fraction of this given how little he streams and uploads. It's possible it's for serving videos via his website. No point in using SSDs if it's for archival, unless he takes some kind of pleasure in wiping his ass with tween fan money.
